I just purchased the MVWC465HW from BadBoy, I had a kenmore washer and dryer for 21 years and it was getting old. I have to say that I am not very comfortable with this machine and the technic of it. The humming sounds more like a grinding sound, although listening to this video made me realize that this is probably the way it should be. On my old washer I could set the time frame. With this one here I almost have to write down the timing of each settings. Since I have washed already with cold water for many years in the past the electricity consumption is a charm and less than my old washer. That makes up for the long wash cycles. Thank you for the video. It gave me an inside of my new washer. I just have to get used to the idea that it is different. Time will tell if I like this one. Right now, I am not impressed.

We purchased this Maytag MVW7230Hw washer from Pochel’s in Tacoma, Washington. It was delivered and set up by the delivery person. We tried to do a load of laundry and the washer wouldn’t agitate. I took a video to show that the agitator pretty much just vibrated, and didn’t even disturb the small amount of suds that formed when the machine partially filled with water. I took the video to Pochels the next morning. They said they would gladly deliver another machine for only $100. I told them I wasn’t willing to pay an additional $100 to get a machine that worked when I had already paid over $1,000 for one that obviously didn’t work. The agitator doesn’t always work, the fill doesn’t always work, the agitator tries to dry clean the clothes with no water in the tub and the clothes on top don’t get clean.

I have the Whirlpool model of this washer and despite all the negative comments, I actually love it. I usually do a half load on 'normal' and I've checked and it seems to be adding just enough water. I do mixed loads with jeans and all so I think the added weight helps give it more water. Mine also has a quick wash that I use all the time for my gym clothes and it works really well and in my opinion, gets the clothes very clean. People are just really stuck in their ways about these new washers and I'm not really sure why. 'give me my amana with the agitator'! What you might not realize with those machines that fill completely up with water is that they really don't rub your clothes together! The agitator is just moving the water around, not actually rubbing the clothes together as you see here. Idk, I love mine and it gets my clothes (moderately soiled I work on cars) very very clean!

I so wish I had seen this video before my purchase of this machine. I just bought the same washer. Installed this morning. I got a heads up after purchasing, about the water levels. After first load, which was a pretty large load, think I might have to leave it on deep fill all the time. The one thing I can say without hesitation, and maybe it’s because of the deep fill, I don’t know,…. I could build a dang house faster before a load of laundry is done. I am not use to a load of laundry taking as long to complete as with this one!! Wow! Other than that, it appears to do a good job. Make sure everything you want to wash goes in at the beginning as that lid locks and there is no quick let me add one more thing really quick. You can pause it, and I believe that allows you to open lid and throw something else in real quick but will take some getting use to on that. I really miss my old Kenmore though.

@@nomarniram4176 I'm not trying to pick a fight, but my current 6 year old GE does a load in about 40 min. Is this video editing something because it seems to take about as long. Also, it seems all of the manufacturers are pandering to California which put water limits on washers. I wish there was a by-pass which would allow you to judge the level of water needed before you begin.

Actually with these newer whirlpool machines i noticed the auto sensing works pretty well, seems to completely cover all my loads with enough water. Also, it truly gives you warm and hot, it monitors the incoming temperatures and adjusts the valves accordingly. You have to select proper cycles and dont go overkill with extra rinses or deep filling and it does loads in similar time to an old timer machine. As a traditionalist im actually impressed with mine.

I had this machine for about a month, called Lowe’s corporate & complained. They did finally return it at my local store. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. It damaged some of my sheets on the bulky cycle. Wrinkle Control cycle is a joke. I said that’s it. Ended up getting a Speed Queen. So far so good with that.

Kirk, thanks for posting these videos so consumers can see how these washers operate. While I think this machine can do an acceptable job of washing, the rinsing portion is a joke. The only thing rinsed was the bottom of the wash tub. The Spray-Rinse (if you can call it that) NEVER touched the clothes .... only the bottom of the tub. Can you imagine wearing clothes that were washed in this machine with all the detergent residue left behind? Totally unacceptable! This is a perfect example why I don't have a single Whirlpool™ manufactured product in my home ... and never will! And don't get me started on the racket this thing makes. It sounds like it was made in 1917 instead of 2017.

Pat. That is no excuse for these manufacturers to be selling lies and deceiving people, which is what they're doing. Deep fill? Deep fill, my ass. Sometimes deep fill doesn't even cover the clothes. Some of these washers have no spin in-between the wash and rinse cycles, no spray rinse. The stupid washer I'm having to use Hotpoint's (HSWP1000M3WW) , fills the water to the lowest level on the rinse portion regardless of what you set the water level to be. This actually damages clothes, besides not rinsing properly

According to the quick start guide, the Deep Water Wash is no available in the Normal Cycle. Also, if you can dig out the Wash Guide which I finally found online, you'll learn that some of the wash cycles auto set the water temp and you can't change it. I tried to set whites to warm and it would only fill with hot water....when I shut the hot water valve off, not water would come in. Power Wash appears to only allow HOT water.

Just brought this home from Lowes today. Washed ONE load of clothes and boxed it up and took it back! Just like everyone said it uses almost NO water, ( you could see the bottom of the washer tub, it looked like there was NO water in the tub at all ) tears up the clothes ( destroyed my favorite sweatshirt ) and even after running the spin cycle 4 times, the clothes were dripping wet, I don't mean a little wet I mean you could wring out LOTS Of water with just your hands. This machine uses VERY little water to wash the clohtes and then a decent amount to rinse them. I honestly don't know how maytag looks people in the eye with this piece of CRAP! Went to get another washer and the sales girl told me you cant buy a washer that is NOT H.E. anymore, they all use very little water. Went to Home Depot-the same thing. Went home empty handed and remembered the old whirlpool washer in the garage, a 1980's direct drive model! Dusted it off, oiled it, plugged it in and she works like a dream! Quiet, runs smooth and the agitator pulls the plentiful amount of water effortlessly through the clothes. The clothes came out spotless! No sensors, no loud noises like this featured machine, nobody telling me how much water I can use in the washer and it spun the clothes completely out! They just don't make em like they used to!

I've completed your video sir. Hahaha, the most boring(not your fault at all...) but informative video I think I have ever watched. Boring bc this washer on the settings that you set, did absolutely nothing in a process for CLEANING ones clothing! This is the R&D's of Maytag fault 100% Maytag Marketing gets 5 stars and 2 thumbs uP with 3 attaboys for scamming consumers into thinking that we're doing laundry while saving the planet... In which neither subject is taking place.. Obtw, I believe that red shirt is not washed!!! 🤔😔 Onto read more comments and try to pick uP some tips&tricks so add to not feel the need to go shopping for another "old fashioned"typical washing machine and or pumping 8+1 rounds of 12ga. 00buckshot into this farce of an appliance.... 😜🇺🇸 How did you get the lid switch pressed so as to run through the entire washing rinse spin cycle while leaving the lid open? Its a dual non typical switch... A grey tab and a black tab which I believe the black tab is the actual lid lock tab..? THANK YOU very much for doing this video!! Mean it..👌👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸

The heavy soil, bulky items, 1 rinse with fs and deep water is my setting and I only loosely filled half the basket with clothes. Water level got just past a fat third of the basket depth... I paused after the wash spin cycles, changed to color soak and the rinse process started. The water level came up more to a fat half... Side to side action is okay but the clothing is not churning... therefore items on the outside or against the ss basket will never get into the middle(churning) therefore never getting properly washed... We are trying the power washand just nite stopped it bc its nothing so back to the bulky items setting but utta probably to far into the cycle to get to the actual water level that's needed... Hahaha, this machine is a complete waste of money and time... My sentiments in all my posts within this video still stand. I WILL BE SEEKING A FULL AND COMPLETE REFUND... The store (Menards) I believe will not refund or exchange due to usage unless I can convince them that "indeed this machine is defective! "

The Wash light turns off, and about 30 seconds later comes back on. A couple of more turns, light goes out, sits there for 30 seconds. It does this it seems forever. Eventually, the agitator turns non stop until finished. A load of towels took 2 hours the other day.

Front loaders are the most gentle. Remember that dry cleaners have only front loading or “horizontal axis” washers and clean delicate sweaters and silks. Front loaders also clean exceptionally well. I have three washers and two dryers in my house and they’re all front loaders. In truth I prefer my machines to all of the Whirlpool direct drive machines and the Maytag Dependable Care machine that I’ve had for everything but longevity, however one of my front loading pairs is a Speed Queen and they’re now fifteen years old and perfect.

We bought this exact washer in December of 2016 and I’m on here tonight trying to figure out why the center agitator won’t move..doesn’t seem to be stripped it’s more like frozen. It spins and goes through the motions (tub moves, spins, and drains) but the agitator stays put, can’t turn it by hand either. 😖
@ElevatorWasher5000
@ElevatorWasher5000 2 жыл бұрын
You’re doing it with the lid open right? To me it seams like you have opened the lid and watched the wash load in the machine and assuming you took the screws out of the lid lock to look and know that it won’t move. Otherwise if you are just assuming it’s not moving only because the lid is closed and you do a load and open the lid and turn agitator and it seems it is frozen 🥶. It isn’t frozen. It would be a bad machine if you could turn the agitator when the machine is off. There is a mechanism that goes down when it shift into spin, fast spin, and when it does spin for rinse. It stays down when it is done with the load. I hope you didn’t sell this machine.. as it is a really good washing machine with a fast spin. Reply and I will give you more info.

Reading these comments I guess it proves things are not made like they used to be. For every good comment there is a bad comment and likely due to it was manufactured incorrectly. I have a GE that after 7 years was making to many noise I tried to fix it myself and not much better, so now I am here looking at this model and still wondering if I should buy 1 or not. I don't want to pay 1000s of dollars for a washer and it break in 7 years, so may just go cheaper and hopefully it gets me that long or more. If not I won't have much money invested. Repairs today cost as much as a new washer and I am already 100 in on parts. Hopefully I get a good one.

The auger isn't doing anything on that little load. Full load ... would like to see one of these newfangled machines with a *full* load. 20 to 22 shirts, or 6 to 7 pairs of jeans. Or a whites/cottons load like those I do ... 5 standard bath towels, a few smaller towels, 5 hand towels, 5 wash cloths, 4 kitchen dish towels, 4 or 5 dish cloths, 25 pairs of ankle socks. Fill it up! :-)
