MVWB835DW1 - We’ve had our Brazos XL for just over four years. We’ve been moderately happy, a few hiccups here and there. Last month (four years and four months) my wife mentioned the spin cycle is “very loud”, sounds like an airplane is taking off. The gear case/transmission bearings are going out. So, I’m going to replace the assembly this weekend. A $250 repair for me, about $500 for a repairman. If you research this topic, you will discover the life span of the gear case/transmission bearings are between three and five years. We hope you have better luck.

You have a great point. Depending on the load we'll use the "Deep Water Wash Option" which definitely adds enough water in there. At 2:13 you can see the agitator a little. In hindsight, I should've had a better view though. Here's a link to the washer on Maytag's website. Scroll down a little and you can see the agitator in full view. www.maytag.com/washers-and-dryers/washers/top-load-washers/p.top-load-washer-with-the-deep-water-wash-option-and-powerwash-cycle-4.2-cu.-ft.mvwc565fw.html?

If you set it on Normal wash, with deep water wash or auto sensing, it’s not enough water to cover a medium size load of clothes being washed. If you choose deep water wash,, bulky sheets it will end up deeper than your clothes eventually.

My landlord in the apartment building I rent from just bought a new Maytag MVWC565FW2, Commercial washer, ten year warranty. I noticed by either auto sensing or Deep water fill that amount of water filling is the same and doesn't cover the load even for a small load. I told the landlord that I had been adding extra water to it and he's freaking out on me saying adding more water will damage or strain the motor if I do ? I'll have to contact Maytag and see what they say ? I did notice with the Auto Sensing that during the wash cycle that it did add more water to basin for the Bulky clothes wash setting. Maybe it's best to use that cycle ?

Unfortunately it’s still a HE washer and has poor wash performance. That’s a wash plate with just a tiny clothes mother stuck onto it, it’s really not an agitator Whirlpool tried to trick consumers into thinking it’s performing like the old ones, and they couldn’t be farther than that. I recommend when that goes, if it hasn’t already, to buy a used classic set. Nothing too old if you don’t want that, they still made classic Whirlpool direct drives up until 2011 and they were very nice looking modern machines. Just a tip if you ever look for something else someday and want quick, dependable results with absolutely no electronic shit at all!

First off I have never rented a home where appliances were included I have always had my own and move them with me. This is why so many people fall into trouble after buying home they think every thing must be new, and on seller side why houses are so expensive because they believe you have to include appliances, but that another story. Second These are the worst washers I have ever own. I have owned it for 3 years now. Almost nonexistent agitation I have put clothes in this washer and ran cycles with door open just to see the and have had clothes stay on top and stay dry. Unrealistic water levels. Auto sensing is a big fat joke. Same with power wash and deep water wash modes. Only way I can get it to add enough water is leave it on auto sense and wet all clothes before you put them in washer. A complete waste of near $800 for it. There is only 1 plus I can give these machines and that is they have a great spin cycle. My last washer was a Whirlpool it lasted me 20 years I have 4 kids and a wife. It would be still operational to this day but the city came and replace all of my neighborhoods waterlines in the street and sediment came in and clogged the pump on the washer. Still have the same dryer though 20 year still going. Have changed heating element in it once and the drum belt three times.

Just a reminder of what a piece of junk this new washer is. Refuses to spin the clothes dry. Every bleeping time. Load done, lift the lid, clothes sopping.

It's a piece of crap. I had a Maytag for 25 years it was awesome. It cleaned the clothes completely... I had to replace the belt a couple times but other than that no issues. This Maytag no matter what cycle you use the clothes come out terrible. I wish I'd never given up my old Maytag. HE stands for I don't clean..... or wash clothes before washing.

Maytag brand new - complete piece of garbage. Forget 16 weeks waiting because of COVID-19. Wash cycle is just as long. Joke. Fire everyone involved in its design.
