Your comment on the price point of the Battlefield books is on point - even if you never play FOW the history and information and eye candy in the books is worth the price alone compared to many other historical books

As someone collecting midwar russians you gave me a bit of a chuckle when you mentioned german players choking on their tea at they are hit on 3+ while i sit over here getting hit on 2+ on a good day

I kind of feel the cards in combo with the book are what make these lists. 'The Best of...' seems to be pretty amazing and makes them all hit on a 4+. The cards are so important, I kind of feel the review is half complete without it.

Thanks Jon for a very enjoyable FOW contribution. I currently am building a FOW German force (...very expensive, especially the freight to NZ), and one of the books I do have is the 'German D-Day' book. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the 'German SS D-Day' Book is for the more experienced gamer. About 30 years ago I started out in tabletop wargaming in 1/285 (...or 1/300 if you purchased British stuff) and we used the quite complicated WRG rulebook (...Wargames Research Group). To cut a long story short, I have been inspired to come back to tabletop wargaming after a 30 year break, and I am relishing coming back to it via FOW. While I do not own the 'German SS D-Day' book, I do have the Unit cards....I do believe the Americans would call me a 'cheapskate', and I am, of course. We have a quite different term here in NZ for 'cheapskate', but it means the same thing. I've just been looking through my 'Bagration' Command Cards (....don't have the book, just yet), and I must be honest, I am completely UNDERWHELMED with the contents. Maybe you want to do an analysis video on them, but maybe not if you want to produce positive content, as opposed to negative. Regards, Sandor.

Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure on the Bagration Command cards. I enjoyed the soviets ones for sure but I don't remember having much of an opinion of the German Command cards. I'll have to take a look again. I'd also recommend taking a look at the Forces website. It's no substitution for the actual book but it does let you build lists easily and is fairly inexpensive.

A film major pretty cool. I use to be an Art/production director in Hollywood until I moved to Colorado. I worked on a lot of the old History Channel productions when they were good. You being a SiFi guy I bet your a Trekkie?

I haven't been able to win any game with the ss from this book. The 4+ to hit really makes it a pain. The only way to sort of survive this type of hits is by taking Panthers that are expensive therefore you won't have many units on the table. I really don't like this design decision. Something is off.

I realy like the ss stug company with al de options to make it a mixed tank force. I’m Still een new player so i agree the geman d-day book have better units for me! Think its gonne be helpful to introducé friends to this game when they van hit my units more easy on a 3+

For team yankee why aren’t there not that much infantry I’m trying to make a USMC infantry battalion and I cant get any but 1 rifle platoon this is just BS

New US Book for Team Yankee, USMC Rifle Company is on p. 73. Plenty of Rifle platoons.
