I know it will probably be a sucky unit but, I kinda want a Luftwaffe field division formation and maybe the Herman Goering tank division... because we must all ask ourselves.... why does the air force have a tank division
@randallcase10095 жыл бұрын
Because it's about empire building, not about building a coherent armed forces.
@shabah26445 жыл бұрын
@@randallcase1009 yeah it was basically a power play by Herman Georing

A bit late to the show but for what it's worth, the old Flames of War paints were Vallejo, just labeled for Battlefront. The new paint sets and sprays are the same just with standard Vallejo names and numbers. So if you liked the old FoW paints, you'll like the Vallejo sprays.

Hi! Bocage is tall and bulletproof in the main rulebook (pg 43) from my Hit the Beach box. Thanks for a great review and runthrough! I’ll be sure to watch all the FoW i can get from you guys. I’ve watched pretty much all of your v4 content so far. Keep up the good work!

Interesting, but I'm not going to finish watching this episode until I get my copy in a week or two. I think it will make more sense to see what you guys are talking about.

Do you need the cards or do they list al the options in the book as well.
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall4 жыл бұрын
unfortunately you need the cards, or buy access to them on the forces.flamesofwar.com

It finally makes sense, it’s a historical game and since the Germans lost historically, they lose in the game rofl. Great looking book and a nice review. Thanks for posting.

No 21st Panzer yet :(
@randallcase10095 жыл бұрын
Afraid not. Rommel's funnies weren't part of this release so no 21st Panzer with its French accent. You can still field a 21st Panzer style force using Mark IVs and dismounted grenadiers or have your usual German half-tracks pretend to be French conversion jobs. I get the feeling that this version is all about getting plastic kits out for the major periods and forces and not so much into the interesting but more esoteric stuff.

Meant to be coming as a free downloadable pdf , when though is anyones guess . If BF aren't going to rerelease the models they won't rush .

Randall Case You are right man, this edition is all about spamming out generic plastic kits for the most famous, well known battles, while largely ignoring the deeper, more obscure forces.

Great video. Sam really had a chance to show his knowledge of the German side past and present. Pronouncing the names of German tanks can be challenging. Here´s nice resource for pronouncing the names of German Tanks. Go to 3.51 in particular: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6TEhYpvdpWGoKM

Almost subbed but then gatekeeper historical preaching made me sad. FoW is not just for history buffs and looking down on those who enjoy a game for being a game will drive people away, not bring them in.
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall5 жыл бұрын
wasn't my intent. A lot of old FOW players do not like V4 and the flexibility in some of the new books. Our point was that there is nothing that is preventing you from building and playing a historical build, V4 did not take that away from you. That's not to mean that just throwing down any models you have, even blue on blue fights can't be fun. Thanks for checking out the channel!
@michaelstrickland69645 жыл бұрын
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall I think flexibility is great, especially for new players. I love WW2, I like the history, but I think we forget that we know so very little about WW2 in reality. We have no idea which units fought with which units or how many chance engagements there were where units of completely different troops ended up fighting together. I built a recon formation, for instance, with a tiger platoon divisional support. There are many reasons why these things might be paling around together. My first choice is the TIgers got cut off and the recon patrol, with heavy infantry support, was sent out to scoop them up and deliver them back to friendly lines. Historically speaking from what I know this never happened in reported confrontation, but does that mean it never happened? I think it was the gaminess thing too, I do not think there is enough power out there in any form of numbers that taking one unit of black box support can make a list total cheese. And the divisional support between books are not cross compatible from what I have seen, I could be wrong. I think overall, it is a mind set. I have enjoyed your channel, I have watched more and see this was more an isolated thing (just happened to be on the second video I watched). Just giving some food for thought I guess, if these ramblings on just a few hours sleep make sense.
