4wd Adventure Simpson Desert & Red Centre 2016 Part 1 | ALLOFFROAD #87-1

Our winter explorations this year took us via Bourke, Wanaaring Tippoburra, Innamincka, Cameron Corner, Birdsville trough to the Simpson Desert. We crossed via QAA, Knolls, Erabena and WAA and French and then went on to Mount Dare, Old Andado, Binns Track, Alice Springs, Hugh Gorge, Fink Gorge and back to Sydney.
6000ks in 3 weeks, we started with 6 Trucks and finished with three due. We managed bone-rattling corrugations, electrical faults, flat tyres but discovered the most amazing landscapes from stony to sandy deserts in full bloom, to the spectacular McDonald Ranges.
We had an excellent trip with many new adventures and campfire stories.

Great footage .last time I was down that way was 29 years ago in a valiant ute with a 245 hemi. Loved every bit of it till it rained. Great country .mind you I was limited to certain tracks due to only being 2wheel drive I'd never do it again in a 2 wheel drive. I carried a 2.5 ton block an tackle as a recovery tool used that alot.

Camping wise we had everyone but John and Jordan with either an Oztent or Oztrail stretcher tent, in my book the perfect one man set up. Easy to set up and fold down, takes not much space (Oztrail version is smaller then oz tent version) and very comfortable.
