subaru's suicide in ep 7 is so damn impactful. In that life he finds out that the witch is, in some way, regulating his power, giving him rules that will cause damage if he breaks. Finding out that his power is regulated in such a way, it only becomes more possible that there is a limit to how many times he can use the power too. Adding onto that, on his first checkpoint, he managed to get past after three tries, so now as he says he cannot be sure that he'll come back again on his fourth (especially considering how typical a 'three strikes and you're out' rule is). He also has no idea if suicide would trigger RBD or not. Despite all of this, and how much he generally doesn't want to go through the pain of death anyway, and how much he doesn't actually want to permanently die, he still manages to jump out of love, wishing to save the two sisters who LITERALLY KILLED HIM because he understands that they're actually good people. Subaru is so, so flawed, and that's partly why this really cemented him as such an incredibly written protagonist for me

And you think they would believe him? That wouldn't change anything. Given the setting and the context as well as the fact that he's the most suspicious person there (Random stranger pops up and a few days later your maid dies) they'd probably kill him no matter what if he did stay.

@@edcaous He can just explain where and what he has been doing at that moment, and they don't have any proof of him killing Rem, because Rem's body doesn't have any scars and Subaru is a noob at magic

@@edcaous Subaru at the current state did not know what's going on and what makes Rem dies, he will in later on. He only knows that Rem killed him in the previous life, which doesn't explained how Rem dies in current life, so he did not know anything And of course they can be stopped if he calm down and explained that did not know anything, after all he is the one who saved Emilia, that has to worth some trust, and Emilia also Betty can back him up, because he is in the library that night
