I'm not sure if you watched all of it yet but Kingdom was a difficult time for ateez and atiny. Mingi was on hiatus for anxiety so they were already down a member. During this time, they had a LOT of schedules all the time and I mean A LOT. They didn't sleep for some days and I'm not even lying. They had a comeback, music show performances, filming for a kdrama (Yunho, San, Seonghwa and Jongho), TV appearances, photos and behind the scenes filming as well as practicing for kingdom. They released behinds of practicing for kingdom which I thought were a very interesting watch so I definitely recommend you watch those after the episodes. Some of it is a little hard to watch because you can see just how exhausted and run down they are. They talk about not sleeping and having to decide between eating or taking a nap sometimes. I believe they even had to eat in the car on the way to schedules sometimes. The creators of Kingdom also didn't treat ateez particularly fairly because they aren't from a big company so they got worse resources (size of waiting rooms etc) and screen time. They also got a lot of really vicious hate from the fans of some of the other groups. I'm just glad that they made some friends and got to learn some new skills whilst showing off their talent to the general public more. I believe the filming hours for kingdom alone were wild. I can't remember exactly but Peniel from BTOB mentioned it in a podcast. It was something like 16hours of filming a day so they had to just be in the waiting rooms for a long time.

Hear Hallucination from I.N it sound like a gorgeous siren song dragging you to the sea, he mentioned before, in one of his interviews, that his voice sounds metallic, different from other members.

They had a comeback and promotions for fever pt2, seonghwa, jongho, yunho and san were actors for a kdrama called imitation and kingdom happening all at the same time. I remember it was a very stressful time for ateez and atiny, also mingi was 3-4 months on hiatus at the time for his anxiety and didnt come back until july of that year Fun fact: wooyoung is good friends with changbin of stray kids and yeonjun of txt, they call eachother honey

The idols in korea are not allowed to talk to each other unless they are in the same company. The girls are not allowed to talk to ANY of the guys. They would be reprimanded harshly which is absolutely ridiculous.

I started watching Kingdom as a Stay, and finished it as a Staytiny. Ateez wanting to show people what they could do on this show definitely worked on me. I also loved seeing the interactions between the groups, the banter and reactions, but it ups a level when they collaborate one week.

Is it because it's a work that swapped songs with i-kon, and it's hard to say which is better, or is it just hard to rate it? Annoying that they didn't include any of the clips of ATEEZ and their obvious love for BTS. It was the reason I became a fan of them in the first place! Many groups avoid openly admiring BTS due to fanwars, but ATEEZ stood out by expressing their genuine love and respect without hesitation. That authenticity made me realise that if I were to ever love another K-pop group as much as BTS, it would be them-and they’ve proven me right ever since.

BTS fanboy over BigBang. One video showed BTS sitting on a sort of couch at an award show and two members of BigBang came over and sat on the end of their couch. As BTS scooted over to make room, they were almost giddy with excitement.

I didn’t notice this the first time I watched Kingdom (since I only knew Ateez at the time and they were obviously singing live) but a lot of the groups were not singing live in this show. It was a little disappointing because it was a competition show. The performances were all really great, but I wish there was a rule that every performance had to be live (other than the dance group performance because that one was purposefully not live). I may be the only one who feels this way though.

BTS are huge fans of Epik High and Big Bang in particular - cf Yoongi in megafan mode when interviewing Taeyang for the first Suchwita. Jungkook is close friends with other 97s in various groups. It was also customary for younger groups to be taken to see their sunbaenim performing eg Seventeen and TXT watching BTS and it was much more common for idols to interact with each other in past generations eg Big Bang performing with 2NE1. Tae is also friends with the influential "Wooga squad" actors, however Jin once commented "People don't want to be friends with us because it's too much pressure", or something like that.

The only thing I didn't like about Kingdom was the fact that it was a competition, because all six groups were SO amazing and put on so many cool stages that they've never done before, and watching them react to each other was so wholesome and sweet! Each week someone had to be the "low" score, which was sad because everyone did so good!

If you were an Atiny before or during Kingdom, you would know that's the most stressful time in Ateez and Atiny world. We were all having a mental breakdown. Mnet treated them like cr@p, fandoms (one in particular) was so toxic, and Ateez was without Mingi, 4 members were filming Imitation at the same time, and promotion for Fireworks was happening. We got through it and we came out bigger and better. In my humble opinion, Ateez deserved to win that. And at that time, I was looking into all groups with fresh eyes. That was my first dive into kpop and just discovered Ateez then. Anyway, that's the past. Ateez grew and learned a lot from that experience. And now they're on a league of their own. You can't even compare them with any other 4th gen groups.

Also: I was gonna recommend Jackson Wang ranting about how much he admires RM, and then I realized you haven't discovered Jackson Wang yet 😱

5:27 all of them like girls generation (if i remember correctly like half of them said that the first album they bought was gg’s), big bang is also a pretty big one (especially taeyang for jimin, he was fanboying HARD in the behind of their collab vibe), shinee (especially taemin [its hard to find an idol who isnt a huge taemin fan, which is understandable], jimin’s actually really close with him now), jk was a huge IU fan, hobi is a big fan of j cole (not a kpop idol, but i had to mention him) And there are probably more, but that’s just to name a few

The whole show is so wholesome watching the groups interact eith each other and just be kind and encouraging, especially watching the younger groups just fanboy over their idols. 😊

BTS Fanboy every other group out there. Rookies to their seniors. As far as i saw the difference between bts and other kpop groups is BTS don't behave a certain way, they are themselves. If there is performance going on stage , they enjoy it a lot , dancing , appreciating and being chaotic regardless of who are performing. They all been same from the beginning. Ok if its like literal fanboying like staring and all, i don't think they done a lot but maybe some gen1 and gen2 groups. There were times where jungkook losing when IU gave speeches or BTS losing their shit when seniors like bigbang, psy performs.

I think that this performance is definitely one of my absolute favorite songs they ever did, and you're absolutely right about SAN. This song really lets his voice shine and shows how capable of a singer he truly is when this is just San and Jongho singing. If you pay attention to the pairing in ATEEZ's songs, Mingi and Honjoon almost always sing together, one after the other, and Jongho and San always sing together as well, cause they really complement each other really well.

BTS fanboys over Big Bang, Epik High (RM has gone on Weverse to gush about Epik High’s new album) Girl’s Generation, and there was a period where Jungkook had the hugest crush on IU. There is a whole compilation video somewhere of Jungkook fangirling over IU.
