Another allotment plot holder gave me some rocks and stones for the pond so I took smaller stones from the pond and pot them in the bird bath. Another plot holder gave me pond iris plants so I pot them up with aquatic compost and pond gravel. I have containers saved from home and a pot that was stored in the polytunnel to plant them in.
The tadpoles are more visible in the pond.
Next there's a couple of shed pieces to reposition including a new tree of life that was rescued from a second hand shop.
Gardening gloves are great but somehow the soil still goes up your nails doesn't it?
We believe we know what the mystery plant is now, it's comfrey. I compared it to the comfrey on Cheryl and Dale's allotment.
I'm still saving egg shells to help keep the slugs at bay and protect my plants and flowers.
Doug has been marking out where the pathway is to go on allotment plot 2.
The plum and cherry tree from the garden centre has been planted. Doug has put wood in between the branches on the plum tree to keep it's shape.
The potato beds have been almost prepared. A lot of hard work has gone into digging, removing bindweed and adding wood chip.
The rhubarb plants are coming up nicely.
We have some Purple Sprouting Broccoli at last! The wheelbarrow planter looks pretty with all the spring flowers blooming.
The gogiberry plants need sorting out. I remove the dead ones and plant ones that I dug up a few days ago from where we put the allotment archways.
The Mizuna plant went to flower and smells gorgeous so it's worth planting in the flower bed.
I bought 2 new bird feeders from a local shop for the allotment birds.
Danny@TheGrowUpChannel kindly bought me some pretty gardening gloves. I will use them but not for the very dirty gardening jobs. I'll use my other gardening gloves for the dirty jobs.
We've decided to plant the runner beans when they are ready along the inside of the archway.

The exciting part of the day is to visit Mark's Garden and his shed where him and his wife rescues hedgehogs. Today I am visiting Trevor The Hedgehog.
A lady found Trevor wandering around in the daytime in January when hedgehogs should be hibernating. She was concerned and took him to the vets where he was given treatment. A veterinary nurse named him Trevor although it could be Trevina as we're not sure at this stage. Trevor was then given to Mark and his wife to look after and put into hibernation for the winter.
Trevor has recently come out of hibernation and is due to be released soon and its going to be on our allotment plot! Allotments are a great place for hedgehogs to be released as its safe with an abundance of food for them to eat. Firstly though we need to make sure that he/she is 600 grams or more in weight as they can lose a little weight when first released. I weigh Trevor and the weight is ideal at 721 grams. I put him back in his cage and he opens up so we are able to see what he looks like.
The Hedgehog box has been drying out so I add straw and put it back next to the compost bays. Can't wait for Trevor to be released.
Thank you for watching, liking my video and subscribing. I really appreciate it.
Love from Linda ❤
