I’m just going to say it, Manu Bennett was the perfect choice for death stroke. They casted him perfectly

His performance is just phenomenal, that said i actually don't think he shoulda been cast as Deathstroke due to the fact that he isn't remotely big/tall enough to play DS. DS wasn't a giant or anything, but he has always been portrayed as being at least a few inches if not a full head taller than any other character, prolly somewhere around 6'3" or 6'4". Bennet is pretty damn stocky, but still not nearly jacked enough while also not only not being all that tall - he's in fact a little shorter than average. As good a job as Manu certainly did, he simply wasn't anywhere near as physically imposing and intimidating as DS is shown to be in both the comics and in animated tv-series/movies. The guy playing DS in "Titans" also did a phenomenal job, but he was even smaller and less intimidating looking than Manu was for fuck's sake.

I can't really get into specifics because of some heavy spoilers, and I'm still trying to get DC fans to watch this show. But nope, I don't see him as Slade at all. Esai Morales from *Titans* was fantastic though, he made season 2 really cool. Shame that the writting for *Titans* isn't that great, especially compared to its cousin-show that started out as a Titanverse , *Doom Patrol* ... Still, I think most people online are kinda unfair toward *Titans* ... it got us a great Dick Grayson (both a himself, Robin and Nightwing), a great Jason Todd, fantastic as Robin & Red Hood... almost all the casting is on point IMHO, except Ian Glein as Bruce Wayne, which is a shame since he was have been sooooo perfect as Alfred....

What makes Arrow’s Deathstroke an absolutely great villain is his descent into becoming one. He was initially Oliver’s mentor and basically the overarching support figure of the show’s vigilante hero, until you start to find out that they went down a road of separation and betrayal (kind of), where he just becomes an outright villain after everything they’ve been through. I don’t even care he’s Australian in this universe, the same universe gave us the Flash so him being Australian is just a unique touch.
