pyro, nomads, envy, pixel, hex have been in the rotation for me this summer. I like their putters and mids. For fairway and distance im just more comfortable throwing discraft and innova in those slots. I was given a Ion putter back in 2011 or so and have been a fan ever since.

I just started trying out MVP/Axiom/Streamline discs about a year ago. I have the Watt, Envy, Hex, and Crave in my bag now, with the Echo , Proxy, and Glitch making occasional appearances.

MVP discs are the highest quality you can buy. And don’t cost any more than regular cast discs. I don’t find them to go further, but with fission and gyro, they hold better whatever line you give them. Hyzer or anhyzer. These discs are flatter, partly because they cool the disc while it’s still in the mold. Other manufacturers pop the discs out while they’re hot, and they dome up while they cool.

Solid round with basically zero big mistakes. The thing I'd like to highlight about MVP's overmold though is that your feedback is basically indicating that the overmold doesn't have any impact on the flight. The whole point of the overmold is not to make discs more overstable, but rather stable. They should fly straighter and have less turn and fade than normal discs. This would also mean that the difference of throwing them to head or tail wind should be less. Now it just sounds like you are throwing more overstable discs than you normally would. This is very much in line with what I've seen for the past ten years. From what I've seen the MVP molds haven't really differed from normal molds in any way. Depending on the mold they still have the normal flip up, turn and hard fade just like any other brand. You just pay more for them. Of course a disc like Glitch is very straight, but it has more to do with the 1 speed and the mold than the overmold.

What really sets MVP apart IMO is their handfeel. I dont really buy the extra distance stuff. MVP discs though tend to be board flat. Just like you pointed out in the video with the "dome" discussion. Personally, I love that. Hence, I bag a lot of MVP. Another key factor is pretty much all of their mids have almost the exact same handfeel. If I swap from a Hex to an Uplink, they feel almost the same. It lets me just focus on the shot and not distract me with handfeel because they all feel the same. Do I think MVP is overhyped, no. But I do believe they tend to be hyped for the wrong reasons. As someone who genuinely tries to bag as many manufacturers as possible, MVP is my favorite. @julianseyal why is that? I understand that Fission supposedly pushes the middle mold plastic even farther out to the edge (if I'm not mistaken) with air bubbles congregating in the middle. But what about Fission have you noticed when using it? I have toyed with Fiasion quite a bit. I currently bag both a Fission Crave (163g) and a Neutron Soft Crave (175g) because I've noticed a heavy difference there. My Fission Crave is substantially more flippy. But, my Fission Crave is also lighter weight and more heavily beaten in. I've also tried the Hex in every plastic type they make it in... Neutron (179) Neutron (168) (what I bag) Neutron Soft (175) Proton (176) Proton Soft (176) Fission (178) Fission (165) Glow (179) The Hex was the disc I chose to experiment with MVP plastics in.

I like MVP/Axiom because I feel like they have shallower discs and I just get better grip and releases. Don't notice any additional distance except for maybe my Crave which just seems to want to fly forever.

Reasons to bag MVP: - You like low profile discs (as an extension you like fast vs. floaty/glidey flights) - A given discs feels good in your hand - Durability seems to be good, I haven't experienced any quick dips in stability like I've had with Trilogy (though admittedly I've only had a couple of fast MVP discs so my view might be skewed) Bad reasons to bag MVP: - "Gyro" or "better" flight. The discs do not fly different compared to other manufacturers thanks to their tech, it's the disc shape that counts Overall I'd say MVP drivers are a bit of a mixed bag. I've had some that are fairly OS, absolutely zip out of the hand but have poor glide and a dumpy fade. However that is not a rule as I also have a Wave that has a really nice mellow S-curve in flight. If you're not a power thrower, definitely lean on the understable side. With mids and putters it's only about hand feel and getting the stability you want.

Love mvp. Got a few in the bag. But no, gyro doesn't do anything different than what my normal discs do. At least for us normal players. But they are outstanding discs.

Bag the domey tantrum. It will break into your longest flyer They get to a point they will flip up and gradually turn most of the flight with a very late hookup. They're the perfect max distance disc. Also I disagree with people saying gyro does nothing, It allows lighter discs to maintain a greater stability. It allows putters to be completely turn resistant at 350+ feet without worrying about not giving it enough hyzer/angles. It also allows very flippy discs to still have a late hookup. When gyro discs lose spin and speed they have a sharp downward fall. If you throw a gyro mold that is "too much disc for you," you'll see that it spikes into the ground. It's not as common with gyro to get massive flare skips for this same reason. Sure, some molds can get those skips, but a lot of them really just don't do the skip thing due to how their late fade characteristics are.

MVP has some pretty good discs, but I think for the most part they are overhyped. Throwing MVP/axiom is not going to magically shave 10 strokes off of your round.

I don’t believe anyone ever claimed they would take strokes off your game. In fact I don’t even think they are overhyped, most people like to throw shade at people for throwing them and saying they are throwing it because the hype. People can’t like an mvp disc without it being branded as hype instead of it being a really good disc, tell me another brand that has that issue?

When i started playing disc golf in 2007, we had 2 discs between the 3 of us. We took turns throwing. It was awesome. Now disc golf is over engineered, and everywhere you look you see players completely over geared for their ability. Everybody has a pushy wheel cart, 20+ discs in the bag, resin/chalk bags, special shoes, and fancy apps. I don't throw mvp because I like simplicity, and am not one to spend money on overly hyped discs.
