He spent several years in prison and Africa. This particular priest is full of kindness, compassion and he is all around awesome. He learns thru example.

Did 3 Confessions Even though I was gone 8 years I did not do a good confession for 40 years I put everything on my phone so I won't forget. And I'm going to mass regularly And I've been going taking Holy communion I've been back for 4 weeks now going to Sunday mass. Now I'm a practicing Catholic I am Perfect If I make a mistake I go to confession and I'm I can keep the list short I'll go once a month.

One of the things I've learned we don't go to mass on Sundays just to Motionless . We are to participate Listen to the priest The sermon I listen I couldn't even say what it was about last Sunday it was about to be attitudes . Also go to mass on Sunday Meet with God Because the holy Communion Jesus will body and blood . In the pass When I I joined the church I thought the holy communion What's sabovic I was totally wrong It's his real body and blood.

Sometimes it helps me to go to Confession at another parish, one with a reputation for traditional norms like this priest. I also know a couple of Catholics who have made it a point to ALWAYS go to confession at other parishes than their own, to avoid the remote possibility of being "found out" by their voices, etc. Usually very active parishioners who don't want the possibility of any kind of revelation of identity during confession to interfere with personal relationships with the priests in their own parish. I can understand that position and sometimes do the same myself. The important thing is to just be sure to go.

That was very helpful. I've gotten myself so worked up to have to confess my sins, especially since I've been away from the Church for 35 years! It's good to know exactly what the priests needs from us...no details, just the sins and the number. Do any of you feel like you also need to 'explain' the 'extenuating circumstances' of the sin so it doesn't sound like you just did it for the hell of it? I know it just boils down to knowing that you did the sin with full consent and knowledge and nobody 'made' you do it.
@evelyncarrasquillo22829 ай бұрын
I think explaining why you did it would be somewhat different for every person. A sin is a sin is a sin, but why we sin can also be show us certain voids we need to fill up with virtues. After 35 years, just drag yourself in with a notecard, let it all hang out and once you see you've survived, you will understand why you will feel like David dancing with abandon in front of the ark of the covenant!

Beautiful words can be a deception, he can be sincere, but sincerely wrong. He really thinks he right, but isn't. First ask God to show you the truth, listen well. Give your heart to the Lord, and ask him to lead you into the path of righteousness. Read the book of John's gospel. There is one mediator, between God and man, that man is Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy chapter 2 verse 5. God bless you , and your family with the truth. Jesus loves you, So much that he died for you, he will wash away away your sins, and will remember them no more. Just ask Him to forgive you ( be sincere) and he will forgive you all of your sins. My life has been full of peace and joy, no rules , that does not mean that you ,deliberately sin. I could go on an on, but time is not on my side. Love you in the love of the Lord. Take care.

Father I just came across your channel today and I must say I am truly blessed... The eight point for making a good confession.. even though we know that God has already forgiven us, yet many a time we are guilt driven and think the worst about ourselves...I have encountered with such a priest who was condemning, which made me wonder if I did need to confess but as you said I should have made him know what I felt... I now go to another church where I am comfortable and the priests there are more compassionate and understanding...that's what we sinners need.. not a priest condemning us... Thank you for posting your homilies I will continue to watch and I am sure I am going to learn from it... GBU as you continue to enlighten people..

Fast for 40 days eating only bread with olive oil for the conversion of your husband to Catholicism. Don't force him, let Jesus do the job. If 40 days are too much, start by 9 days.
