Ave Maria! It's the 6th of February here in Thailand. I just listened to your Homily. Sure as shooting your absolutely correct 💯 % Most recently I have been gossiping away lately about this and that. I know I have to stop it completely! Get myself to Confession fo this terrible sin so I will pay more attention to whatever I am doing and saying 100 💯 %. Absolutely thanks for a great Homily Fr. Give a Gift to Jesus this Year - Your Speech Do NOT give Gossip, Slander & Detraction Luke 12:3 “Jesus said, ‘Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops.’” 1 Corinthians 6:9-20 ~ St. Paul tells the Corinthians that slanderers will not inherit the kingdom of Heaven. 2 Corinthians 12:20 “For I am afraid that when I come, I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.” Romans 1:29-32 “They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” Galatians 5:20-26 ~ St. Paul tells the Galatians that participating in dissensions and factions keep us out of Heaven. We can give the gift of Affirmations, Positive Speech & Building People Up in the LORD! St. Paul urges the Ephesians 4:29, 31-32 “Never let evil talk pass your lips; say only the good things men need to hear, things that will really help them. Get rid of all bitterness, all passion and anger, harsh words, slander, and malice of every kind. In place of these, be kind to one another, compassionate, and mutually forgiving, just as God has forgiven you in Christ.” Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.” Ephesians 5:20 “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”

the roman catholic concept of divisions of sin, by degrees is false, and not supported by scripture. ALL sin is punishable by hell. salvation is by faith through grace in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as your savior. this is followed by true repentance of sin. the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

@@allparish i correctly understand sin. there are no divisions of sin, except for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which is unforgivable. all sin is forgiven by faith through grace in Jesus Christ alone, as the Son of God, by His death on the cross alone. this is followed by true repentance of sins. this is contrary to the roman catholic church, which cannot guarantee salvation. the bible does guarantee salvation.
