I was lucky enough to be part of the Choir and it was the most amazing experience ever. We are all amateur singers who either sing in church choirs or community choirs and who just love singing and we practised very hard for the concert. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and thank you to all those who appreciated everyone's efforts. Xx

This Canadian doesn't believe in either God or this king. He is NOT my king and he does not rule the entire earth, that is a very narrow-minded and British-centric point of view.

I attended All Souls in the early 1970's at the time when Noel was the new music director there. I had the privilege of being part of the choir and singing under Noel's baton. He started the orchestra at that time, too. I am delighted to see how it all has grown under Noel and now under Michael's leadership. Thankful for youtube, etc., that I can pretend I am still in the choir. ~ Peggy MacKinnon Bendell, part of the 10 Pages Hill group, at that time from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Oh, that sounds like a wonderful experience! Jan Mulder is indeed a talented musician, and it must have been special to perform with him at your church. Ocean of Dreams is a beautiful piece! By the way, do you happen to know where one can find the sheet music or scores for Jan Mulder's compositions? I've been trying to locate them, but I haven't had much luck so far. Is there a specific place where they are available, or are they not released publicly?

We Seek Your Kingdom --- ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC re-use of wonderful old melody. This, this is what mature Christian citizenship looks like. We are the yeast. We are to permeate our world from the inside out and the bottom up, always working, constantly appealing to the one already crowned and enthroned (see N. T. Wright's "The Day the Revolution Began) for his insight, assistance, intervention each at his prerogative. I saw some "too woke" hateration, and that provoked this.

And then a lot of people say they want republic 😅 lol you don't really know what comes in a republic! Grew up in one, and it's full of politics, division with a lot of corruption ( every country have their corruption issues). I certainly have freedom but no fun, such the British do. What I appreciate with monarchy is that they let the govt do the political jobs, and the monarchy does most of the charity that impact most of its people. Everything they do is always based of unity. If you like republic, just look at the USA as an example😅 😅

Video starts at6:30. The video quality of Coronation was very poor for 4k nice hi tech cameras are the standard today. It's a most traditional thing, but one that's worth using the best camera or at least something off the shelf for less than $1000 for their good cameras such as a tiny Go Pro which is better than what most governments use. USA does terrible quality recording to like when they have 4th of July yet it costs a lot of money. North Korea films in 4k! Love Zadok the Priest part the most.

If what Rico Tice did was truly intended to inform about relevant aspects of the Coronation, as the viewer was encouraged to expect, then what he said was singukarly uninforming. His opening comments which sought to make some ridiculous distinction between a "British" day, and the display of a flag representing just one part of thge "British" people, was crass and ridiculous. My nationality is British by descent, but not by birth. Charles is my king. He is also the king of that person present who was waving a Canadian flag, so why did Tice find it necessary to make a distinction? He then finds an aspect of the Coronation to talk about, and use as a reference point- the Crown Jewels and how much they might be worth in monetary terms. Of all the aspects of the coronation that ANYONE might chose to dissect, this is THE MOST CRASS. Tice had (presumably) watched the service, heard the exhortations, the prayers, the statements, the readings the vows and the music. He had witnessed the coming together of people of many backgrounds, nationalities and faiths. But what he has taken away from that service, to use, in order to deliver a message to thousands of people, both present and online, and future viewers, is the MONETARY VALUE of the regalia by comparison with the (spiritual) value of the Bible. If this point was to be made at all, then ONE BRIEF SENTENCE would have done it, not a detailed analysis of the value of each piece. This "sermon" was waffle. Absolute waffle! That part of the message of Evangelism which NEEDED stating, to a large and varied crowd, was WHY a person, any person, might NEED Jesus to die for them. What exactly is meant by the statement "Jesus died for you"? How is a person who is not of Christian education supposed to understand and relate to this statement? "Lively oracles"? "Ransom for many"? Does this man really have ONLY ONE THING TO SAY, repeated on every occasion? Secondly, corrections- the Orb, was, of course, a reproduction; this should have been stated at some point. At 2:35:00 or there abouts, Tice refers to the diamond in the sceptre . He calls it by a name which is not quite Cullinan, and not quire Kohinoor, but something in between, like Collinoor. Given that the Kohinoor diamond is a matter of dispute, getting the name wrong really does matter. He also refers to the diamond in the sceptre as the "most famous" and "most expensive". It is certainly the LARGEST cut diamond in the world. But it is certainly NOT the "most famous" as the Kohinoor Diamond is MUCH more famous. (It has not been used since the funeral of the late Queen Mother in 2001.) Such a disappointment that a man in a position of spiritual leadership should find so little substance to give inspiration, in a ceremony as varied, as profound and as deeply spiritual in its intent and performance, as the Coronation of our new monarch.

@MandyJMaddison
@MandyJMaddison Жыл бұрын
@@marianandrade38 Ana, I DID get the point that Rico was making. It was the SIMPLEST, most obvious, most unintelligent, most basic point that anyone could POSSIBLY make. It wasn't an INTELLIGENT point. It was a point that the Rev Tico could have made in ONE , VERY SHORT SENTENCE. If he had said "King Charles, arrayed in cloth of gold, and a jewelled crown like (Biblical quote) "King Solomon in all his glory" was told that the Bible, our Holy Scriptures, available to each and every one of us, was the more valuable thing... the most precious thing the world has to offer!" . END OF THIS IDEA.... NEXT idea, please!! You see, YOU can understand this idea, simply put and with a Biblical quote. YOU may not be clever, but you do not NEED to be told how many million pounds the regalia is worth, in order to understand. Having talked about the worth, made a relevant quote , THEN it was time to look in detail at a SPIRITUAL aspect of the Service, and EXPLAIN that to people who perhaps to not understand. Doing RESEARCH into the monetary value of the Crown Jewels, teaches people NOTHING spiritual. If the same Preacher had done some research into the anointing with Holy Oil, and explained how David was anointed by Samuel, how Solomon was annointed by Zadok the Priest and Nathan the Prophet, and how Jesus was annointed by Mary Magdalene before his Crucifixion, and how the women came again, to anoint his body, but found that he had Risen..... Now THIS would explain a procedure that many people did not understand, and it would give the Annointing of King Charles (privately, because it was a very spiritual moment) a context that people would look at with Biblical understanding, if the Preacher explained it.. The Crown Jewels are precious. The Bible is MORE precious - that is five-year-old level. Not what you expect from a preacher who says he has "done some research". If you are older than five years, then the welcome made by the young boy, the vows made by the King, the anointing, the prayers, the readings, the Hymns, the swords of Justice and Mercy, ..... and the magnificent words of the Hymns and Psalms were ALL more important to learn about that the exact values of the Crown Jewels. Do you understand? why I see this as a magnificent opportunity, where the preacher failed badly, because he limited himself to a VERY VERY SIMPLE idea, he failed to look at the Spiritual content of what was before his eyes. He did, and said the EASIEST thing that he could do. He did what required the LEAST thought, the LEAST mental effort, the LEAST possible research, the LEAST discussion with colleagues, the least inspiration. He gave nothing insightful. .

@@marianandrade38 Ana, I acknowledged his name in the first sentence of both my posts. I believe that I may have spelt it wrongly and corrected it. I can assure you that any offence that might be caused by a typo of the two adjacent keyboard letters, r and t, is nothing as bad as the offence caused by muddling the Cullinan Diamond with the Kohinoor Diamond which is a very touchy and provocative error committed by the said Rico.

I read ALL of your criticisms & explanations of what Rev Rico should have said. Ultimately, there are no 2 ppl in the entire world that, given the opportunity to speak at this event, would have pleased the entire audience with a 'perfect' speech. And, I get the impression that you would wax on & on why any other gifted speaker was unintillegent or disappointing or crass. I think there is no pleasing you. In that stead, I also hope that you have many years of public speaking or speech & sermon writing; to be a credible authority in what constitutes a perfect oration. How many times have YOU been invited to speak at the Royal Albert Hall due to your significant ability & recognition as an orator? I'm waiting.....

Yes I was there at the concert and was expecting at any moment someone to run on stage and shout “be healed !! It’s a Miracle !!”

Were you shocked by the coronation ceremony and music in the morning? It was also filled with texts pointing to God.

I enjoy grand musical bashes like this, but I am dismayed at how religiously-oriented this prom is. I am a non-believer and would prefer an evening of great, celebratory secular music, rather than being ambushed by some religious message. Granted, a lot of baroque music is tinged with religious overtones, but if the whole coronation is supposed to be ecumenical and inclusive, let's be more neutral and not ram Christian theology down the throats of those of us who just want to celebrate the new king and queen and enjoy an evening of thrilling music--without the preaching. Thank you. Best wishes to the King! Peace!

Coronation Prom is a musical concert by the All Souls Church to praise God and it happened on the Coronation Day.

@@drmahaCroc9164 Could have fooled me. I thought it was to celebrate the new king. Praising God is done in something called a church service, not a prom.

Super apart from the black soul singer destroying the English Hymn, "Amazing Grace" It was written by two English vicars over two decanters of port and a truckle of Stilton. They were John Newton(lyrics) and William Cowper(melody. It was not a black tune, mick or jock but English
