2024 Midsize truck of the year

I purchased a 2024 Nissan Pro4X in the color of Cardinal Red, the color seen in your video. Purchased it this past January. I absoulutely love this truck. I was a die hard Ford man but due to problems on my 2018 F-150, it turned me away from another ford. I was torn between the 2024 Nissan Frontier and the Toyota Tacoma. For the price and options, I am so happy I went with the Pro4x. In comparison to the Tacoma, the Frontier's side steps look stronger, the exhaust tip's placement is better, and you get a real/ full size spare tire. I wasn't sure if i would like the handling of the hydraulic steering, but it is fantastic. The Frontier's rear seat flips up and locks mechanicaly in place, no stupid strap and snap like the Taco. I also like keeping my engine clean, good luck with that under the Taco hood mess, take a look at both engines and you will understand. If your not drag racing your buddy, this truck has plenty of power. The look, feel and ride is fantastic, Nissan nailed it!

Nice truck dude! I like them Nissan engine & setup. People try to talk shit because it's an older platform but I think that's a pretty damn good truck. Being an older platform is probably a good thing

I own one and it's really really cool. Love it and it's proven, no issues - 3rd year with this drivetrain. It's heavy at 4,700lbs so it's not exactly fast but that V6 moves it well. The interior is very comfort and less techy stuff to break. REAL buttons! No features buried in a ridiculous ipad slate screen. Yay ATN - I agree, and you made a good choice.

Not sure what year you have and probably already know this but engine and transmission have been in the frontier since 2020.

@@JohnnyRebLa And that is the good thing... it's well proven. No big bugs left to fix. ( not as exciting as new design I will admit but done that and got burned with first year Tacoma in 2016)

Great choice. I'm excited to see what Nissan does for the Frontier in 25 for its mid cycle refresh. I hear the screen is getting bigger and the p4x will be available in the extended cab.

I'm actually looking at the Frontier SV 4x4. I researched all the mid-sized trucks and the Frontier and Ford Maverick are the cheapest on the market but the Frontier offers more in options of what I'm looking for, including having the V6

Although I have driven nothing by a Toyota for the past 39 years, I still agree with you. The new offerings from the other manufacturers have too much tech, with too many problems. I test drove a Frontier and have to admit, I really liked the simplicity (including the hydraulic steering) and the value. Good Call.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this video. I believe that this and the Ranger fx4 are the best values right now. I have a Titan Pro4X which is solid, but might downsize to this or the Ranger in a year or two.

Ford can keep their ecoboost. I suppose if you’re flipping it every three or four years on a lease it doesn’t matter but otherwise I’d go with the Nissan.

The only thing keeping me from buying a Frontier was the back seat make you feel like you are being folded in half.... Not great when you have a family you want to haul on long trips. Ended up special ordering a new Range XLT FX4 with the 2.7

I have watched some videos on midsize 4x4 trucks. As I will be in the market next year. Some people say that the V6 power on the Nissan Frontier comes on more linear as opposed to the sudden power on Turbo as it spins up on the competitors Turbo motors. They say that this is an advantage when going off-road.

Turbos are less reliable and will require maintenance later down the road. They are not desirable for a trail rig.

Sorry, for value it's the Ranger XLT. Starting at 39k, if you add rear locker, 2.7 turbo ,some tech a 2.7 turbo ,much better looking truck. 45k. Much better value than the Nissan.
