It’s crazy the developers haven’t addressed everyone’s concerns/complaints and it’s like they don’t even care how upset the entire community is over 2.0.

The main reason people aren’t spending is because long term players learned the devs are perfectly fine with screwing them over. 2.0 took 75% of peoples investment and threw it out the window. New players aren’t spending as much because there’s not enough players to fill servers. Idk if the devs wanted to kill the game, but they certainly accomplished that.

I tried, 3 times to get back into game but i just cant be bothered anymore, to think i spent over 2 yrs non stop but this 2.0 transition "murdered" it for me and not just me i might add. My lotr crew did as well.

They see its making 3times less than 1.0 and still didnt change it back it seems like they want to lose money

I wouldn't expect them to revert their changes and return to 1.0. But they are certainly seeing the decline in downloads and revenue and most likely not only since a few weeks ago. And still all we are seeing is some "optimizations" here and there, but no fundamental changes like rebalancing of commanders, changes to the item system, not even new commanders. I really wonder what Netease is waiting for.

Its single player becouse you dont need war buffs anymore and planing attacks on stacks and 5 min taking tile slow the game . So i think game will die soon .

I tried one season of 2.0. Got the ring, but no enjoyment. LOTR: Rise to War will one day be a Harvard Business School case study in how to drive away a paying audience: ignore customer requests; negate those customers’ previous investments; and construct game mechanics so that success requires ludicrous commitments of time and money. I gladly suffered the grind of farming in 1.0 to get to the fun part - fighting. Now, even fighting is a grind.

The decisions with wrecking the game via 2.0 updates were so that the krakens could whale harder and executives who never played the game made those decisions by looking at spreadsheets and projections and not understanding or caring about what players actually wanted.

I think the Devs are just into gaming in general, not fans of Tolkien lore. They have cookie cutter changed this game to be too much like other Asian owned games. Tolkien fans are brutally loyal. We insist on certain standards, but the Devs don't listen to us. They also don't seem to have any business sense. They are definitely out of touch with North American players. Lots of lost revenue because of that alone. They should absolutely change their policy on breakdowns of relics. We have to lose the equivalent of $1000 of our investment in gear. They should return all items and charge $20-$50 for it. Simple things as well, like Gandalf. In the books and movies, he rode Eagles and was friends with the King of Eagles in the Third Age. Yet, no Eagles or Beasts in his bloodlines or skill set. It goes on and on.

I haven't spent a dime since 2.0 released and have recently quit the game. Lesson learned to not spend money on any NetEase game every again, they can chew up your investment at any point in time and you have no recourse. I think I wont ever be spending much on a mobile game ever again after what they did to our commanders and gear.

@@mentormindset853i only played the game for a brief 4 (or is it5 i forgot) season until 2.0 hits. Really had a great time. So many epic moments. One time we are playing Variags( I was with YUMMY), where we allied with mordor. The other clan in variags (POKE, a cerfiable hardcore guild) blitz to the ring and we crushed loth and rohan along the way. We are besieging one of the keeps near the ring (forgot the name) when Arnor and erebor crushed our ally gunda (which seems to attract fanatics that loves hopeless fight) and rushed down south. Its now a race against time, and we somehow recreated the battle for leipzig in the ensuing relief (and defeat of my guys), our faction fighting bitterly to maintain the siege lines, people fighting to the bitter end when they were uprooted. In the ensuing rout, we are nearly pushed back to the capital, but reorganized and stopped them by a river crossing. Long story short, WE GOT THE RING AND TRIUMPH. It was such an epic season, this game allows the potential for so many intrigues, betrayals, genuine want of revenge and glory. I have never seem another “proper” game yet alone a mobile game where this level of diplomacy, strategic coordination, matters so much despite not being built in as a “feature”. I dont regret spending money then, i really thought this game deserve the support. 2.0 ruins the game for do many of us and i am genuinely devestated. Its such a shame.

Maybe for players that have never played it that 2.0 isall they know. The OG players may dabble with the game but i dont think it will ever be as popular as it was in 1.0

I was playing Lotr for a few months in Spring, and now I'm trying Infinite Lagrange for about 5 weeks now. Cinematics, battle mechanics, city building are much, MUCH more interesting, than Lotr. But there is one thing, that throws me off. While playing LotR I didn't need to contact Support even once. And after a few days after I started the Lagrange I already needed help and had a few questions. And Infinite Lagrange Support treated me, like garbage. While I'm playing this game, and I like it, I still have thoughts about coming back to LotR. Almost daily.

The download could be because the advertising has slowed down. I used to see a lot of ads for it. Like a lot of people I have not spent since 2.0 as the return of value is much worse imo

Could be the main reason why developers aren't bringing events or new commanders. I guess they acknowledged that it was a mistake to change the game, bcz they didn't attract more casual gamers like they intended. On the other side I think switching back to 1.0 probably would be an even bigger loss bcz they wouldn't get the players back who left.

I’d come back, and my crew would as well, at least much of it, if they reverted to 1.0. But they were never really trying to attract casual gamers. 2.0 requires hours of presence each day. Used to be that you could pop in for 30 minutes on your lunch break and accomplish something. Now, fighting is as much a grind as farming. The game lost its charm, and the devs didn’t listen to the customers.

I would definitely come back if they reverted to 1.0. And I would keep spending. I wasn’t a kraken but definitely at least a small whale. 2.0 just killed it for me.

I quitted this game years ago and I'm never going back. I avoid PVP activities that involves money in it. I do spend money on mobile games but not to do with against other players. They changed the game to 2.0 so this will make them more money and now it came back to bite them. The game now has more one-star reviews than five.

2.0 ruined the game all the downloads and money spent now is from new players that never knew 1.0 i quit playing for 6 months. I am playing a new season now but not a fan of it still i just missed the game.

they have really pushed their own store this year, i think the apple/google data is misleading, almost everyone saves money avoiding apple or google. I like 2.0 having started in 2.0 but understand other people fristration from 1.0. Can't see this game going anywhere, updates are regular and server i have p;layed are all super active.

So i just finisht my first 2.0 Season. I played 4x Seasons 1.0 back then and here is my experience. So first i notice all my Commanders are useless now, i use to run Ewoynn, Theoden and rider Heros with Heal. Getting any reputation progress on commanders is pretty much impossible. Most of them dont even work before they are Mythic. Most Mythic champs dont work before 2-5 Rank. So why is that important? Because if you met any Enemys they will run 4x Mythic Champs that will Crush you. if i use my main armys i send 4x4 arms 7300 Units each against a whale and he will kill all of them together in 1 turn without loosing troops. The game feels so incredible pay 2 win now. i do spend money but sometimes it dont feel like its worth it. (3x Battlepass over the years and this 2.0 season). You dont need ANY blue/Green items. Epic items are average but still bad. The old Commander reputation system was way better. its impossible to play without spending big cash. Maybe i move on too.

Crazy... it's like everyone told them 2.0 was no a good idea and that they wouldn't come back unless they change it back. 2.0 was never for new players let's stop lying about that. They want money and whales and kraken won't stop spending 🤷‍♂️

I quit when they brought V 2.0, give it a good go but it was rubbish. Enjoyed it before V 2,0, shame they ruined it and shafted there players.

they clean ratings and delete comments even when you don't write anything offensive. I renewed mine several times and it was still deleted. 1 star with the words that their idea 2.0 is a failure that was visible even in the seasons of the trackers, it was the worst servers where people did not go except 1 time to try and after that no one returned there again. and they arranged 4 heroes instead of 2 and made violet worse, which = f2p kills, added more effects to clothes, which made it difficult to collect and most of the effects suck, they still play, in fact, no more than 5. p2v

It's just too much, they want every single penny you have to be useful in the game, now you need to spend that what you did x3 more times because you got more commanders you need to use

The line they used for 2.0 was "make every commander great again" I have screenshots of 1.0 reports using non meta commanders like shagrat and ugluk and doing very well, in 2.0 I cant justify running shagrat even with all gold gear because his skills are so terrible.

The game is almost dead for so many reasons. Its so sad, so much potential yet they zig every time the players say zag. Look at Moanorlords devs, they literally run polls asking what the players want and focus on it. Its so simple yet they think they know what the players want more than the players. I wish they would sell the game to supercell. The spending needs a much lower ceiling each season and then people will try keep up. The current spending limit means players spend a bit, get almost nothing then get dominated by a couple krakens and never return. Such a stupid short term approach to a game.

I quit with 2.0 so did 30 others I know and none have returned. Now looking back it weren’t all that great to begin with really , we start the game win within 2weeks or a week for the tryhards then wait a month of doing nothing, wait 2 weeks in bagend then repeat. The only people who would have stuck around for this were the spenders and 2.0 was a heat seeking missile aimed at spenders lol. Between employee wages , tax and royalties payments they ain’t making much on this.

I hope the game dies off. As a casual who only bought season pass, they brought the 2.0 when i had nearly maxed out my WK and basically destroyed all my progress. Now it is either spend more or quit. Not to mention that there is a huge imbalance between good and evil

I could not disagree more, but to each their own :) I still play it, so obviously I don't think it's the worst thing in the world, but they have made so many changes that have hurt the game. That's factually speaking from the numbers, not opinion.

It definitely wrecked the game. New players can't compete unless they spend a crap ton, unless you have high respect meta commanders you won't win, majority of commanders are now useless, healing doesn't work, and any exchange is not worth it. You can't say this game isn't wrecked to what it was unless you're completely blind.
