I use these. Hold over gear from our teardrop. First IPA’s, now CamCo leveling blocks. Your my brother from a different mother LOL 😂

Haha! I'm picturing the scene from Stepbrothers. "What's your favorite dinosaur?" 1...2...3... Velociraptor!

Those are pretty cool. I currently use cut lengths of 2x8s. But, these look lighter and safer.

Yeah, they aren't strictly "needed" but they sure are easier than trying to find logs or rocks (at least in IN) and they're adjustable. I took a 3 day trip this last weekend and ended up in a great spot but was off camber and slanted backwards so I stacked one side 4 high and the other 2 high and it leveled out the truck really nicely and was a piece of cake. If you've got room, for $40ish they seem like a great option to me.

I don’t want to stack it like it says on the package. Could I stack them 4 high and place them under my wheels when working on my car?
@AllThingsOverlanding2 жыл бұрын
I think you probably could do that, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're working under the car. Definitely seems like a hazard and I'm sure their instructions say not to use these for working on the car. If you're looking for something to use for working on your vehicle, I recently got these and they were cheap and much safer: amzn.to/358OwWc

@@AllThingsOverlanding yeah those are nice too and are sold at Walmart but my car is lowered and can’t fit over them. Sucks

@@Phuong_Nguyen_ Ahh, been down that road, haha. I had an Infiniti that was slammed. You might be able to make them work with a long piece of a 2x4 or 2x6. I think you'd have the same problems with these blocks because you'd have a tough time getting them place in a way that you could drive up on them. Pretty sure they make some low profile ramps, but I think they get a lot more expensive.

@@AllThingsOverlanding I already bought the blocks lol. I’ll make it work though. Chock the rear wheels and apply E brakes. I’ll jack up the car, enough space for about 5-6 blocks under each front wheel. Then I’ll use a bottle jack as a brace. There’s a jacking point in the front center of the car used to jack up the front end. But I don’t have a floor jack with me. So I’ll just use my bottle jack right there to take some load off of the blocks, and as an emergency stopper.

@@Phuong_Nguyen_ Oh yeah, I hadn’t thought about just jacking the car up and putting it on the blocks. That might work. Good luck!

Ha. Same Legos I use!

Nice! They work great and fit in my drawers, so they seemed like a good, cheap option. Glad to know I'm not alone!

I just don’t get it. If you’re going to go through all that effort to creat a campground and clear out areas where campers can camp, would it be too much to go that extra mile and create sites that are at least level? I mean really.
@AllThingsOverlanding2 жыл бұрын
I think at normal campgrounds, they probably do that. But this is dispersed camping (AKA find your own spot in a national forest) so they aren't really "prepared" camp sites, but rather spots that were very basically cleared out and allowed to be used.
