Not sure how it works in the US, but here in the UK where most people still have VDSL broadband via twisted pair copper, turning off your router regularly is not the best idea. It can result in DLM thinking there's a fault on your line that is causing loss of sync, which will probably lead it to throttle your max data rate in order to boost the noise margin. It will just keep doing this until the broadband becomes essentially unusable due to biblically slow speeds. Used to see it quite a lot with particularly thrifty customers when I worked as a faultsman.

Someone is blocking my wifi signal causing interruptions while I'm online. I unplugged my Amazon fire stick because someone was interrupting my shows. One night while watching a movie it kept going back to a specific spot in the movie. I had to turn it off. They must be using the SSID to do it. The same thing was happening at the school I worked at in Dallas. My computer would freeze and I would have to turn it off and back on again. Now someone is doing it at my apartment. It stops for a while after I change my password but after a week or so it will happen again. How do I prevent this. I've already had a tech come check things out but it is still happening. The tech told me not to disconnect it because it would not get security updates when turned off.

Possibly. You're going to have to use some kind of modem/router and the fact is that most of them are manufactured outside your current country (US? UK?). Great tips, but I dont believe there was alot of throught-process behind every tip. "Turn off your wifi if you're not home.
