Never been a big fan of these guys but there’s something about this song that does the job for me. Ridiculously simple structurally, the same 4 chords the entire time, yet they manage to layer just enough melodic variations atop it to keep it interesting yet unobtrusive. I don’t know what it is. There’s a certain fleeting sort of beauty in the atmosphere, like feeling nostalgic for a time or a place you aren’t sure is even real. I guess that’s appropriate given the title. Whatever the case may be this is one hell of an effective single, doing just the right amount to grab your attention without ever becoming overblown.
