Thank you, I think it helps wait wise that the deck etc is infused resins and that helps to keep the kilos of as well as being very practical for fixing extra bits on your deck.

Looks nice thanks for the look see. Is that really nice, Pizzeria still at the Back of Cherbourg Harbour ? I had some really nice Pizzas there years ago . Nice Cafe across the road from the Harbour used to brilliant massive Ham Baguettes stuffed full of English Mustard too. Had a very Memorable Day there on one visit too, got a Guided Tour of Cherbourd by a Maquis Veteran, he'd been Caught by the Gestapo and was sent to Dachau for interrogation, and they broke every bone in the poor sod's body. Somehow, he managed to Escape, made it back to France where he was looked after by the Maquis until France was Liberated. One the most Memorable Characters I've met in my Life. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️

There are a few good pizza places now and yes there is still the cafe across from the marina, but we found one last year that does a brilliant English breakfast as well and as that sort of thing is a treat for us living in France I made a beeline for it on the first morning we got there. Eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms etc heaven.

@@SVTONICBoatWives Good to hear there's still Pizza places and the Cafe. I really liked Cherbourg I must admit, must call in there again. When Motorbike touring, crossing to Lehavre was favourite to get into Central France fast, heading to Le Mans on the old roads, and the Weather always picked up there, and it was a nice run to Andorra and Spain. Le Mans latitude off the Coast things tended to get Cheerful as well. I really like that Coastal Run down to Gibraltar tbh. Best Wishes and Safe Travels - this El Nino year could be a real Stormy, earthquaky and Volcanically Nasty bugger. Brian of Mr Weatherman Channel covering the Caribbean is so concerned he has created Earth QC Channel on KZbin, to keep a really close eye on how it develops. Coinciding bad El Nino Cycles, can end Civilisations. I don't think the Moche Civilisation in Peru was the only one tbh. So Be A Lert there's a terrible Lert Shortage. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️

I prefer Allures 40.9 myself rigged for single handed sailing with Hall Spar's OceanFurl in-boom main furler, self tacking jib and a FLIR M300 mast mounted infrared camera. While you are at it, let's add a Parallel Diesel Electric Hybrid Engine, 1KW/ hr LiFePO4 battery bank charged with 500 watts of solar, regen prop and EFOY Pro 2800 Fuel Cell. A SOLO SAILER'S DREAM.

@Sabre386110 ай бұрын
Yes they did, which is a shame. The 45 is too big for solo sailing but rumor has it they are getting ready to release a 42 in the 2nd quarter of next year, but with Europe falling into recession, who knows!!

@@Sabre3861 We did ask them not long ago and they denied any knowledge of a 42 coming out. The 45.9 is now the smallest boat they currently make ;)

Another excellent in-depth review. Having some truly forward-facing windows in the deck saloon would be a bonus, but apart from that it seems to be a very well designed boat.

A bit unrelated but.. Any any indication a next generation Explorer 52, would have the large aft cabin like the 51.9? Love the reviews👍⚓
@SVTONICBoatWives Жыл бұрын
To be honest I have no idea I would have thought though if they built a slightly bigger boat that you would be able to have the option of the aft cabin like the 51.9. I will ask the boat yard to see what they say, thank you for watching

We were hoping that this 45 had an interior like the 40, or 51.9. Maybe something they will do in the future?
@SVTONICBoatWives Жыл бұрын
I am on the same page vs interior, we like this layout and it’s very practical, comfortable for big passage making. But, both the 40 and the 51.9 share a great open plan style space that is light easy to move around and practical. We will see what is on the card’s for the Allures 45.9 in the future.

It looks that way doesn’t it, wasn’t as bad as it looks we had wind against tide and with the drone footage it tends to exaggerate the movement. I love this and it was a lot of fun to sail very stable and easy to manœuvre.

I am glad you like them they are fantastic sailboats and well suited for world cruising, but I would have to disagree about the interior, I admit that I prefer the interior of the allures 40 and 51.9, as they are more open and give a better feeling of light and space, but the 45.9 has been laid out to be as practical and ergonomic for offshore exploring. What is your preference for interior layout? Just out of curiosity.

Aluminium IS better. It might be the perfect cruising boat material. Until it isn't: I would love a new Aluminium boat, but I will never buy an older one. It's not very forgiving if you mess up electrically, so buying someone else's mistakes is high risk.
@SVTONICBoatWives11 ай бұрын
