I am full Italian, We do all are beans the same way you did yours. We put everything together the same way you did yummy. The Italians and the southern people when it comes to beans and greens we cook the same way. We always used smoked pigs feet some type of smoke or fresh pork feet. I can’t wait to try your recipe. 1. Heat pot (on low) and cook bacon until brown and slightly crispy 2. Remove bacon from pan and set aside on paper towel lined plate; leave bacon grease in pan 3. Increase heat to medium and add onion, celery, green bell pepper, and thyme - cook for 6-7 minutes until veggies soften 4. After 6 minutes, add garlic and green onions; let this cook for another 45 seconds to 1 minute 5. Add seasoned salt, garlic powder and onion powder; cook for 30 seconds 6. Add black eyed peas, smoked meat, chicken broth, peppercorns, hot sauce, vinegar, and bay leaves; turn this up and let it come to a boil 7. Ensure you’ve added enough chicken broth so that everything is submerged (if not, all more broth or even water) 8. Cover pot and let this simmer on low for 1 hour 9. Remove smoked meat from pot and cut the meat from the bone and then re-add this to the pot; cover and let it cook for another 15-20 minutes 10. Remove bay leaves and add bacon back to pot; give it a stir and add salt and pepper for taste before serving ⭐ Happy New Year, y'all! Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe 🙏🏽
