Phase disruption looks to be incredible in 3-4 player games where some villains tend to get a lot of upgrades

It stands out to me that so many of his cards are superpowers and therefore work with Deft Focus. Solar Beam appears to work with both the Aggression and Justice resource regenerators, and Phase Disruption can get rid of things like "Hero Action: Exhaust your hero and discard 1 card at random to discard this card" and other super difficult attachments...

Team-Building Exercise is going to work very well with 616 Search-an-Android lane, as his Hero side is also Android (obviously lol)

Haha, thanks. The speed at which I get these up usually depends on what's going on in my day when the preview article drops. In the past, FFG has usually found a way to release them at the most inopportune times for me to try and get them out quickly, lol. Mass increase-Reboot combo looks slick. Avoid all damage and stun enemy in villain phase then ready hero at beginning of hero phase.

One thing about Defiance is you can’t play it in Intangible form like you suggest since intangible vision isn’t allowed to defend.

They just revealed the rest of the War Machine set and he looks like a blast, too. I keep telling myself I won’t buy the next hero but they all just seem so sick that it’s hard to skip them. And even if you just use the house to grab Vivian over and over while playing another aspect, I don’t see that as a bad thing, at all, anyway!

Vision is the character I've been most excited to see in this game (aside from Doc Strange, and we all know how amazingly that turned out), so I am HYPED. It looks like he could be one of the best protection heroes in the game which is awesome and thematic for him, but I also appreciate how creative some of his cards are. Also all of those new allies look awesome! What's not to like?!

I love protection so I'm excited to see him come out. That one damage per defense card played is FANTASTIC. It doesn't say event, so putting on your padded vest=deal a damage, playing your med team=deal a damage, play sidestep=deal a damage. It could easily add up to 30-40 damage over the course of a game.

Sadly defense card doesn't mean protection card, it means a card with the defense keyword which I'm pretty sure are all events.

Victor is an Ultron cyborg with human DNA. Its a great thematic fit that he would defend so well against Ultron Drones. Shame they didn't introduce the Runaways affiliation.

O wow, I think he may be pretty strong Heroic hero. Soaking a lot of damage when the Villain attacks multiple times in one round and discarding villain upgrades? With Vivian always there at 3 THW, he can chill in alter-ego and ramp pretty safely also. Can't wait to give that a try!

His House, Jocasta and Density Control sets up great combos to always be able to play his mass increase when you want to. Vision is shaping up to be a very fun shenanigans hero.

1) Valkyrie is also getting 16 cards, with the 16th being Death Glow. 2) Intangible is going to be really good for threat mitigation. When you plan on Thwarting, you can stay intangible to soak damage without needing to exhaust to block. 3) Phase Disruption is going to very good (IMO) for dealing with those villain attachments that also require you to exhaust to get rid of them. I hate it when I have to do that for Concussion Blasters for instance. 4) Flow like Water with Electrostatic Armor is going to be fun 5) Reboot is going to be crazy good for Vision. One of my favorite Heroes to play is Quicksilver partially because he has Always be Running which readies him for 1, which makes him super flexible and awesome. This card does all of that while also healing you for a point of damage and it gives you even more flexibility to ready a different android ally if that is a better option, AND it isn't even one of his signature cards. It is Swarm Tactics without requiring another hero or ally to be out in play. IT IS AWESOME.

I'm not a huge fan of hero cards pushing you toward a particular deckbuilding style. The fact that Vision has the Android ally specific card in his hero set doesn't mean you HAVE to play with Android allies, but it means you have to resign yourself to a dead card if you don't. Since it's just a resource at that point it's fine, but I think having 15 cards and specific mechanics associated with the identity is already scripted enough without also heavily suggesting aspect/basic cards.

I completely hear what you're saying. The one thing I will say is that for those who want to dabble in deckbuilding but are overwhelmed by all the options, having a nudge in a certain direction can make things easier and more accessible. So I enjoy it from that perspective!

Vivian is visions 'daughter', and is one of the champions, their dog is called Sparky and is in the vivian artwork. I highly recommend reading the Vision comic series, it's not that long and pretty infamous with its story. Viv has abilities simiar to Visions as you might imagine

You don't necessarily have to exhaust to use Mass Increase. If you use a defense card, you are now defending. Defiance is an example of this, although perhaps not the greatest combo, since Mass Increase is going to ignore all the damage anyway, but you could skip a nasty boost ability with Defiance (without knowing what it is first, unfortunately), then use Mass Increase to ignore the damage and then stun the attacker. Pretty cool.

Preemptive Strike could be fun. Let the villain attack your fellow player, see how bad the boost card is. Cancel the boost icons, deal damage to the villain equal to those boost icons, deal one damage from Flow Like Water, play Mass Increase, cancel the villain's damage, stun them, deal one damage from Flow Like Water, then of course deal one damage from retaliate with your super dense cape. That's a potential 6 damage to the villain and a stun and a cancelled attack. Throw in a counter-punch for another 4 damage and Protection is looking like even more fun.

I’m blown away by a lot of cards in this pack, but I don’t understand how Machine Man exists. Early game 2 cost ally chump block. But Late game when you’re drawing those hands of all resources this guy can hit for 4 over and over. And then in Vision specifically you can get him back with the house. He seems insane to me. Also, I love REBOOT! (The show)

Yeah Machine Man certainly seems powerful, I'm really excited to try that card out. I like that we're seeing 2 cost allies that embrace their chump blocking ability, but offer up more as well.

Even crazier still is the fact that it doesn’t have (until the end of the round) or “for this attack” qualifiers on it, so as written, the ATK and THW bonuses would persist until he is defeated. Caleb has already noted that it only lasts for the one attack, so we’ll probably see an errata at some point.

I am neither blown away nor disappointed, but I am still interested in trying him out. I like the form change heroes. I think the defense rule changes in RRG1.4 were unkind to Vision as it now means all of the defense traited cards in his deck cant be played while in Intangible mode, so that is awkward. Because of that, I actually am not a fan of him with Protection. The allies are cool, although I am unsure about the prot cards we saw. Flow like water, for example also seems like it fell victim to 1.4 because as it is now, it is straight worse than Electrostatic armor.

If you like machine man now wait until you realize he does not have a "for this attack" or "until end of turn" for his stat gains. Will see if they clarify closer to release but RAW I'd say he is the best voltron ally in the game.

My guess would be 3X Solar Beam but possibly less as it's pretty powerful... as for sleuthing the card shown is 8 and I've not seen a 7,9 or 10 cards yet. I have noticed Vision is 16.99 Vs 14.95 for all previous Hero's on the FFG website. Unsure if this is the new RRP going forward for Hero's or specific to this pack? .. I'd doubt a single extra card would account for it.

He’s a bit Spectrum and a bit BW. More thinky than a lot of face-rush heroes. I tend to like that kind of hero more. Before this pack, Vision was the only Android in the game. I bet he will be a blast to figure out and get to the table. A lot of it is how long it takes to get him booted up (ha). I call shenanigans with no Wanda team-up card(s). We have the house. He’s in dad clothes in AE. We have, I think, all the kids now. Don’t toy with SW. You know how she can get.
