Hi everyone! Thanks for watching! In this week's video we do some hard hat testing on a new type of hard hat that is designed to prevent against traumatic brain injuries! I'm super interested to hear your thoughts on this, so let me know in the comments below!

This is why I got my kids bicycle helmets with MIPS. A plastic shield is great at preventing fractures, but poorly designed helmets can sometimes increase the rotational forces and the risk of concussion.

would like to see how they perform in relation to peoples hair. will it perform the same with people with long hair? what is the weight comparison to a traditional hard hat? are they easy to clean, do they hold odor. are they UV stable, chemical resistant etc. cant find any of this information anywhere.

Hello, I am Korean. "In Korea, we use chin straps for hard hats. Does this have a more positive effect than hard hats without chin straps?" It is a question of a student who loves you as a fan.

It does. The US is moving towards helmets with straps but it’s taking a while to catch on.

@@AllySafety "It does. The US is moving forwards helmets with straps but it ?? s taking a while to catch on." Thank you for your reply. "Hi Rachel." The beautiful Rachel! You've got a big misconception about South Korea. South Korea is a backward country in construction industry disasters. That's why I came to you to learn something from the developed world. I have participated in the construction of the far east district engineer's office in the past. And the reason American don't use chin straps in the U.S., unlike us, is because I've been told that when a falling object lands on top of a hard hat, the impact has to take the hard hat off, and if people use the chin strap, they'll take all of the impact and it's more dangerous. In Korea, the safety know-how of the construction industry is very pathetic. In addition, corruption is rampant, and many people are dying. There are many good things in Korea, but there are too many bad things. That's why I want to learn from you. PS: And I love you so much as a fan! You are so attractive and beautiful! Thank you!

Interesting! You always did it very well, keep it up. Next topic should be hearing protection and cross contamination from carelessness and misuse of hearing PPEs

Thanks! I'm researching hard hats -- we're issued Type 1 Class C plastic helmets, but I want something comparable to the job hazards. It's a toss up between the Wavecel T2+ Pro, or a carbon fiber hard hat... I know the carbon fiber is Type 1, class C... any thoughts?

I have both and I’d say the WaveCel outperforms it in terms of impact protection.

The Wavecel is cool! It kind of looks like it has a Purple brand mattress inside it.

Very informative and interesting. As a teenager I worked with a bricklayer who had been hit by a falling scaffold board from high up. He was unconscious for a week in the hospital then. When I knew him he always wore a hardhat tho the horse was out of the barn by then. If I was still doing anything potentially hazardous, I would certainly want one of those improved hardhats. Resistance to extra measures intended to improve safety is if course a huge problem. As Tater Salad onetime said, " Buy a helmet". . . and . . . "Put the helmet on".

This is not a hard hat , it is a contraption. , been wearing for six months , this is the most uncomfortable torture device ever forced upon my head , makes a busy 8 hour day feel like a slow 12 hour day with bosses watching. The adjustment dial has a knob on the inside covered with thin plastic that drills into the back of my skull to my brain , the back of my head is raw. The hat sits high on my head and feels like its going to fall off if I don't crank it tight. This thing sits directly on your head no shock absorption if you take a blow you will feel it for sure , if you take a side blow your head will move with the hit, I don't see how these are even legal. The accessory clips on the side get caught on orange fencing and on wires or any thing that will fit in the grove. The ones with the chin strap are even more dangerous can get caught on rebar or even be potentially fatal if rigging fails and catches the strap. Strap breaks at 24 lbs , 23,lbs can do some damage. For the price of one dangerous hat you can get 8 reliable fibermetal hats. There's your honest review thumbs down.

Follow up , after months of wearing this contraption a coworker set his wavecell on a trash can mounted to the outhouse , probably about chest height , when he came out of the outhouse his wavecell was on the ground, the wavecell had fallen off the trash can the back vent cap had popped out and the hat itself was cracked, not an isolated incident as another coworker took off his hat and dropped it on the concrete from chest height 2 times with the same exact result. Not good.

Our company actually just purchased 25 of the PIP type 2 you test in this video and the results are quite alarming. I have a sales rep sending me a sample of the wavecel for us to test. Next will be trying to talk ownership into the $200 safety helmet.....

Cool! Let me know how it goes! The costs can definitely be a tough sell but when you look at the differences in performance it's pretty clear.

YEs its a high cost up front, but knowing you do not have to buy all the accessories such as the clear goggles and face shields like you do all the other new Type 2 helmets. With those accessories, the cost go up more than the wave cell, not to mention replacing them when they are broken. With the wave cell, you can use the normal aftermarket face shield frames and lenses that are a minimum cost. It will even out in the long run. We are currently waiting on an estimate to place an order. The hard part will be convincing General Contractors that this is actually a type 2 hard hat, they have the helmet style engrained in their brains.

We’ve had them for several months now. They are causing neck pain because of the weight. The padding is very uncomfortable and gives me a headache.
@AllySafety

Oh no! Do you wear them all day? It’d be interesting to weigh them vs a normal hard hat and see what the difference is. I think even a small difference must be noticeable.
