Ironic that I was editing the part about death and then I get the call that our family dog died :/ danget, I guess I have to keep resonating that message with myself today. Honestly never thought I would be a person who couldn't eat when i'm stressed, used to be the opposite. My past self would be binging on the left over thanksgiving food right now. I just thought it was interesting, any way thank you for ordering prodough, we sold out in 20 minutes. I usually make posts on ig as to when I will be restocking, it's normally Monday but with the surprise death I wasn't sure if I would get Monday's video done.

Yo, fat acceptance community, Imagine: a couple hooks up and moves in together, one of them gets addicted to heroin and the other one is paying for it, taking care of them, doing everything to enable them so that they're constantly tweaking. The addict says "hey, I think I have a problem and I think I should get help" and their partner says "no, I like you better when you're high, if you get help, I'm gone." Yes different substances have different effects, but this is still a deadly manipulation and there is no reason to shun one and accept the other. They're both toxic and abuse and if anyone tries to force you from getting help -- please leave the relationship

You don't tweak on heroin. You are slowed down, not speeded up. Lol. Sorry...it was funny to me. I had a bf who got me my dope. And interestingly, he was a feeder. When I got clean, he did too, because I took control of myself. He used my guilt complex and giving personality and childhood traumas against me, guilting me when I refuse, saying" look what I have done for you, and you slap me down". Its hard to break from that kind of manipulation. But I did. 18 years later. And lost 200 lbs. I was down to 200lbs. Then I got really ill. Now I am upto 280lbs and with the inability to walk well. Could be MS. But I am slowly learning belly dancing, I do the excersisebike,on easy and invalid yoga. I am at least keeping the muscle active. Even if the lymphodema is keeping me swollen. I'm not going to lie: As someone who has a really slow metabolism, my biggest fear is getting to the state of severe obesity. Seeing people like this makes me sad. They can't move or do anything. It's horrible. I'm fighting it but it's hard. Thank you, Michelle, for giving me hope.
@kingayy92675 жыл бұрын
Counterintuitive though it may seem, overweight people have a faster "metabolism" than people of healthy weight. More often, "slow metabolism" is actually the person overestimating the amount of calories they burn while significantly underestimating how many they consume each day. This is easy to do, since a drink from Starbucks can contain 1,000 calories and we tend to forget to include beverages when counting calories. It's math - when calories in < calories burned, weight is lost.
@xalciaqx90263 жыл бұрын
I had a slower metabolism too, but now it's super fast, you can fasten yours up by drinking water before your meals, generally drinking a lot of water, drink green tea, and move a lot. Good luck!

Exercise. Walking counts any movement even something like figiting helps. Eat lots of fiber it can be fruits or vegetables and meat to stay full longer. Drink water, sounds basic but water is amazing to help lose or maintain weight. Sometimes hunger and thirst signals can be very similar. Hope that helps.

I saw that episode a while ago. My 600 lb life is depressing. Before I saw the show I never really had an idea people could get that big and that immobile. I can overeat but not like that. I was 1 lb away from an overweight BMI in January and I immediately bought a treadmill and counted calories for 6 months to drop 10 lbs.

What you said about having to work on things for life really rang true for me. Food addiction, or anything addictive, will always be with you. This is gonna be long... When I was in college I knew a girl who was in a twelve step program for her meth addiction. She was clean for almost a year, got her daughter back, in school to better herself, just all around winning. I made the mistake one day in referring to her as a 'recovered meth addict'. She cut me off and corrected me immediately, saying no no 'once a pickle always a pickle'. She went on further to explain that just because a person has been clean for a certain amount of time doesn't mean they're over it. You're fighting that fight forever. This became even more meaningful to me when I sought help for my bulimia. With the aid of my doctor, some medicine, and my family, I managed to stop the cycle and deal with the reasons motivating my behaviour. This behaviour was addictive. I consider myself an addict. I haven't given in to the familiar ritual of binge and purge for about 7 years. However, I always have the urge. It has never gone away. I really feel for people who are addicted to food. It truly is an addiction and it needs to be treated as such. I see this poor girl in the video and it breaks my heart. Hiding food just like I used to do. Just like an alcoholic might. What she needs in in-patient treatment first, and then deal with the physical. Anyways, thanks for always being vulnerable in your videos and for talking about your struggles. And to anyone reading this, if you feel like your eating or your behaviours around food are out of control, I urge you to seek help. It's okay to stop shouldering your burdens alone. 🙇♂️ okay thanks I'm done
