Amazingly nice example of a cathedral radio. Nice to have expert helpers to fix any " accidents" along the way. You did not mention if you put a fuse in it to protect the transformer. Hope you did.

I know it was an accident when you dropped the chassis. But at least you and a member of the museum got it back up and working. I'm glad you are uninjured in the process. Another awesome video from you, Seth!

Wow, I had that exact chassis I was going to restore to install in an old console cabinet. Never did get to it and ended up giving it away. Nice to see what the radio was originally in.

Hanging cords and pan handles hanging over the edge of the stove. Simple hazards we all overlook that can have surprising consequences. You do good work and it's very time consuming. Nice radio!

Oops! I think we’ve all dropped a few electronics onto the floor one time or another. At least you came out unscathed.

That looks like 👍 a twin cathedral radio 📻, in a way. A trip to the floor probably wasn’t really good 😊 for this radio 📻, but at the same time, it did no damage to it. Yes!! The open coil I guess was the damage. Just rewind ⏪ the coil with new copper wire. Your friend, Jeff.

You are so fortunate that the damage was no worse from the fall. You are also fortunate that all its parts are there. I'm working on a Majestic from 1931 that is missing its original IF cans and was "re-engineered" at some point, probably in the '40s, to use generic IFs and oscillator coils. Trying to restore it back to original is turning out to be a nightmare! I think you're wise not to add the audio input feature to this set. I was fearful at first that it wouldn't work, thinking it might have its volume control in the RF circuit. But your model has the volume pot where you usually find it in the audio circuit. That is a nice set and I suspect you'll have no trouble auctioning it.

I bet you said a few choice words when you dropped that chassis. Nice looking radio.

Beautiful work and good recovery. I personally think that you made the right choice in not adding the input. I think thirties radio should remain as original as possible. That just my opinion. Thanks for your continued good work to save these old fellows.

Paint thinner will clean but not 'flow' the finish. I think pure acetone is too severe. The Howard's was probaby your best approach if you don't want to pursue finish rejunivination. I work for dealers that don't want to see things stripped. So I blend when I can sometimes with Qualarenu (sp?) or similar. Now hard to find.
