I am definitely guilty of thinking pushing in the stick for L3 R3 is not good for it lol. But, I also just prefer to map them to the back anyway for comfort.

As someone who only games on the Xbox Series S, this review is a huge disappointment. For clarity, the review is awesome. I’m a huge Controller Captain Fanboy, but the details he’s talking about are a knife in the heart. As far as PS5 controllers go I will always recommend AIM controllers. For Xbox, if you want the truly premium experience you will have to find it somewhere else.

Hey Kevin I just came from the new Gamesir controller Kaleid series and since you didn't mention it on the video I wanted to ask, do you recommend the new Kaleid over the G7 SE? I will mostly use it for playing competitive Rocket League but a friend with the T4K told me that the mechanical buttons after some time started to lose in a way they may start to double click unintentionally. Or since the Flux is the same as the Kaleid with no mechanical but membrane buttons do you recommend it over the G7 SE?

Hey! The face buttons on the kaleid do feel a little looser than the G7SE's. No double click for me, but the Kaleid doesn't have the same plate under the face buttons that the G7SE has. Are you on Xbox or PC? The Kaleid doesn't work at 1000hz on the xbox, but it does work at 500hz without disabling your headset. The G7SE works at 500hz and 1000hz on xbox, but anything higher than 250hz disables your headset

@@Sursumcitoo As far as ergonomics go, for me personally, the Kaleid is more comfortable since it's more like the Xbox default controller and it feels really nice if you have big hands. The G7SE is a little smaller, so it might be a little more comfortable if you have smaller hands. Also worth noting, G7SE's 1000hz only works on Windows 11 PCs. The Kaleid works on Windows 10, but it's a little annoying to update. Between the Kaleid Flux and the G7SE I'd honestly just go with the G7SE since they're both membrane. The Kaleid (non flux) micro switch buttons do feel very nice, more enjoyable than the G7Se's imo, but I'm not a big fan of the d-pad for fighting games. It has a lot of resistence because of the micro switches and you may miss roll off inputs.

Great review, as always. Just not buying an Xbox based pro controller from any brand, due the to locked polling rate/input delay. Thinking about it from that perspective, I kind of understand why AIM puts a lot more energy into thier ps5 controllers. If I'm dropping 250 or more on a controller why would I buy one that's inherently "slower"? Hope Xbox fixes this on thier next controller platform, bc I actually prefer Xbox shape/layout.

Great review as always bro, it's good they've added a few more options but should be almost, if not the same as PS controllers, hopefully they add friction rings, hall effect sticks and an easier remap kit for the next controller, if they do that pretty sure they'll sell more.

Just wanna say thank you for the review bro A+ on mentioning the remap mode explain was a headache for me as well sometimes the button do map on there on and all would be aiming down sights so you are not the only one. I truly am pissed that they don’t give us all the features as ps5 is not right wouldn’t that be a better business move? Be on the top of Xbox and Ps5

It would be really nice in these reviews to take a look at the quality of work inside of the controller. Battlebeaver tends to do a great job in that department, quality of solder, neatness of wires, ect.

There's a lot more competition in the xbox/xbox-style space vs. the PS5 space. Custom controller companies put all their eggs in the PS5 basket because there's so many alternative pads that work (albeit not wirelessly) on the xbox platform and also one of the main markets for pro-style controllers are PC players, and you can use literally whatever on a PC so long as you can plug the fucking thing in.

I sent my X-box v1 controller back for repair twice for back paddle pistons pushed inside the case. The second time but I cannot remember how much time passed - but they repaired it again for me under warranty. I waited 2 months though, luckily I had a pro core controller (with stick drift) as backup 😅

Bought aim ps5 controller cause I think there probably the best option for ps5, but aim seems way to far behind with xbox controllers the scuff instinct pro has much more to offer at the same price can't see myself switching from scuff on the Xbox side. Nice review as always Captain 👍

I’m a Xbox man , I have had every Xbox made since day 1 And I have had a few PlayStations PS1,2,3 and 4 I still choose Xbox over PlayStation I am thinking about switching from Scuf to Aim I have 2 Elite 2’s I like the Scuf Instinct Pro that I have but the problem is 2 of the back paddles The Inside 2 paddles are definitely difficult to use . So do you know of a good Aim review for Xbox X that I can watch ?

i remap L3/R3 stick clicks to back paddles, was my first thought when we started getting back paddles....but that is because I am old and my hands hurt.

I wouldnt recommend spending $250 on any controller with the standard Xbox controller's potentiometer thumbsticks (Alps, I think?), especially with only a 45 day warranty. I've lost 5 Xbox controllers in 2/3 years to stick drift with most of those lasting around 6 months. Thats not counting the two controllers I bought trying to replace those 5 that had problems out of the box (one had an A button that would double press, the other had stick drift out of the box). Xbox One/Series controllers are the only controllers ive ever had this problem with too. I would be willing to take that risk at a 2 year warranty at that price. Anything less and youre asking for trouble, imo. I'm sure there are good potentiometer thumbstick modules out there but, in my experience, not the Xbox ones.
