For those of you getting pissed at me calling it crappy now. 5:10 sums up everything. I’m sure it was great back in the day, just is in bad shape and crappy now. If it was 1985 I’m sure it was vastly better, like much of America. I make these vids because I love malls and preserving their memory.

Btw if you want to see what the mall was like shortly before demolition and while it was still open, I have a video showing footage and the storyline for the mall with some sad music, not the greatest quality because I rushed it and it’s from a year and a half ago kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGiYi4OAe6aqabMsi=WdNf5rbaz8sBrdyH

This place was actually pretty awesome back in the day. In the 90’s it had a massive toy store, an arcade called PoJo’s, lots of clothing stores and record stores, the best pretzel place ever, and my old favorite Mexican restaurant called the Alcupoco. It was always magical at Christmas time. You can simply google Karcher Mall and look at photos from when it was lively. We actually had my junior homecoming dance in this mall in the vacant space that later became a Burlington Coat Factory. It was never as big or packed as the Boise mall, but that was part of the charm. The 90’s and early 2000’s were such a simple time and I’ll always cherish the memories of the arcade and record store as a teenager. Abandoned places don’t remotely give you any insight into what once was.

Sounds wonderful! I’ll look up pics and videos of what it used to be like. Was really hoping to film inside but was not able to. Sounded like a great place based on your description!

Always good to see you, your explores, and your straightforward commentary! We’re in the month of spooks and spooky! That mini mall looks like an inside out (or outside-in) strip center.

Hmm, seems like they're turning it into a general shopping area called District 208 instead of a mall? Saw that they called it "de-malling" in a news article, haha.

Yeah there’s another mall in Boise about 15 miles east, it’s Boise Towne square which is ajout 1.3 million square feet, way bigger than this one. This mall was half demolished, from the mor furniture to that bare area (east side of mall) was once all part of the mall, the boot barn, Ross, and big 5 were dry walled in from the mall. They are revamping it for apartments and an outdoor shopping center. Shits got me bummed out I would go there all the time. Funny thing is, I mixed up Boise towne square (the actual nice mall) with Karcher, which was already dying at that point. So when I’d go there as a kid, I’d be excited thinking it had the play area like Boise town square, then get disappointed lol. Great video man, sorry on behalf of the psychos in the comments screaming at you for calling it shitty, I’m a nampa native and say what you want about that mall, I agree, nice back in the day but all shitty now because of those asshole owners that ran it to the ground.

I grew up in nampa..I heard you mention that it was run down and reminiscent of Phoenix..I'm now in tucson and am in Phoenix regularly..Nampa is not anywhere close to being as shitty as Phoenix..we left nampa due to the influx of California ..40 years from now and you'll be exactly right..that's what happened to Phoenix and Tucson

Yeah you’re right. I just meant that parking lot was reminiscent with the trash. The rest of Nampa was fine. Nowhere near as trashed as Phx.

I’m from Nampa, lived here all my life. You don’t know the history of Karcher Mall. It was a booming Mall until Boise Town Square was built. It was the most beautiful place to hang out. You should really look up the pictures of old Karcher mall. When it was sold the first time, the new owners tried to change it, and raised the rent no one could afford to keep a business in it, THEN the resent owners from out of state moved in and destroyed it. So I would really appreciate if you didn’t call it SHITTY WHEN YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED.
