I looked up to see if I can find the mall that I used to hang out before I moved out of state and met my wife to show her and.... Ouch. I was last there in 2008. I honestly always thought the Superstition Springs Mall on the other side of town would die first. That's probably the most real "ouch my childhood" I never felt seeing what happened to it. Lots of memories with my deceased mom are from there.

I was on a bike run and we stopped there in 2017, it was my first and last time. I bought the series "Clan of the cave bear" at the bookstore. I didn't like the mall, it felt claustrophobic with the low ceilings and narrow halls with everything crammed together.

This made me cry. I used to go to mesa Communities College and go here for lunch. It was so lively and fun . The world is a different place, for sure. Evil is taking over this earth, but Jesus is coming back to make all things new again . We have some ugly stuff to go through first, but believe in Jesus so you can enjoy the outcome of what he will do

You’re right. That’s why I was hanging there. But it’s not great let’s be honest… It’s not a competition compared to south Phx but the fact it’s even compared says something haha Also, you do realize a street preacher got shot in the head like a mile west of there just a few months ago. But you’re right it’s not THAT bad 😂.

Our country's elite rulers continually letting in more and more foreigners, of which, moved into the local neighborhood, along with drugs, and govt housing destroyed the area and Fiesta Mall and the surrounding area. That section of Mesa, AZ used to be one of the nicest and safest areas in AZ. But our govt 's policies destroyed the area and forced the law-abiding citizens to leave. But, shh! Don't say anything, or you'll be called a racist.

Wow, memories, I've seen deserted malls before, but never one I spent so much time in, freaky. That first balcony when you were walking in, I think that was up by Dillards (? memory's a little hazy), but that was my corner, where there was a Sam Goody, and I think either a Walden or that other one, started with a B, not Borders... ahh, getting old sucks....

I moved to Chandler about 3 weeks before Chandler Fashion Center was opened. I lived across the road from it. Never got over to Mesa much, but Fiesta Mall sounded familiar so I clicked on the video. Indoor shopping malls are becoming more and more rare, and COVID and the internet have surely contributed to their demise.

I find it interesting that az central noted “After Jan. 27, 2018 Fiesta Mall's owners will leave one door open.” Clearly no one ever locked the door and the word got out quickly. 😯

Why they don't convert to low-income or home- housing? Nice little apartments.
@unfazedreview30006 күн бұрын
Because they are greedy and would rather eliminate a fun mall and allow it to die then add overpriced high rise luxury apartments. Kind of the way of the valley these days.

It's progress. Taking away something people have fond memories of in favor of cheap crap from temu arriving at your door that porch pirates don't even bother with and you will throw away soon when you take out the trash. I have a neighbor who tried to give me a $2 watch from temu and I didn't even want to bother taking it to the dumpster for him, which was a few feet away from us at the time.

Hi there, wow what a flashback! I grew up in the 70-80s at Metrocenter🥰nostalgia galore!!! Thanks for posting! My parents had finally saved up enough money to buy my brother some parachute pants in the 80’s, before we had even left the mall someone had stolen them! That’s my biggest memory but we always ice skated there and every weekend the teenagers would “drag” around the rings of the mall. Good times!!!

This is just hard proof nothing lasts forever. Never thought a mall like this would turn into a ghost town. I've been in that place countless of times, more so in the 90s and 2000s, brings memories. Most people would enter through the Best Buy on the east side. Did you know at one time, when Best Buy was like Amazon in the early 2000s, there was two Best Buy stores across from each other in that area. Literally there was a store in a stripmall across Alma school, then the one in Fiesta Mall. That was amazing in itself when that strip mall started to die off. First Best Buy left in the mid 2000s, then all the neighborhood went out of business or just left. It was dead vacant lot by 2013. Then the mall got the poison.
