I love the way sapphire looks at him when she says "even penny Lane." She telling Russell how much he's fucked up.

The line that touches me the deepest “They don't even know what it is to be a fan. Y'know? To truly love some silly little piece of music, or some band, so much that it hurts.” ~ Sapphire is the Shizzo and this is one of the greatest films of all time.

I think Fairuza Balk is so beautiful and amazing she should be in more movies. So I could see her more. I only seen her in some. Great video.

This movie was never contrived nor preachy. It nailed the look and feel of the '70s.

I knew that love for music. I think since I was about 8 years old. It grew with each year like a spectacular flowering vine. And then one day I looked at myself, looked around me. I became old. The vine withered with each passing year afterward. Very little music sparks such joy anymore in me. The only consolation I have is that the music will live long after I'm gone.

I'm sorry you've lost most of that joy, but don't give up on it - you may find it comes back to you some time, when you least expect it. It happened to me during a severe depression, but I got it back after some meds and therapy. Age ain't nothing but a number, as they say :) (I've had arthritis since I was 13, and a severe limp requiring a sick since 31, so age alone is not necessarily a limitation to dancing/gig-going - but all of this is just meant as a solidarity/aspiration kinda thing, not a judgement or suggestion you've done something wrong to lose the joy, or something like that. I hope that was clear, sorry if not.. I hope you have plenty of joy left, anyway :)

It's crazy to think that even if Led zeppelin hadn't stolen any songs from anyone, they would have still come up with a bunch of classics. The rain song is so dreamy... One of my favourite movies.

Didn't Bron-Yr-Aur come out on the "Physical Graffiti" album? How could it be played in 1973 when the album came out in 1975?
@mito88
@mito88 Жыл бұрын
"Bron-Yr-Aur" was a solo acoustic piece by Page, named after the cottage where he had composed and arranged much of Led Zeppelin III with Plant. It was recorded at Island Studios in mid-1970. The track was later used as background music in the group's film The Song Remains the Same. sauce: wiki

@i ou1! dude, i gotcha. Im 51 yrs old and have been watching this flick off and on for 20 years. I love the scene, its just the delivery (vocal meter) of that line, those 2 little words always struck me as a little off. I like Fairuza, good actress, just feel that Crowe could've gotten a slightly better delivery out of her. Yanno?

Not physically, but there's a certain feeling you have when you listen to that one song or that one band. If you felt it, you'd know. It's hard to explain, I know she was saying it to him specifically for a reason, but she isn't wrong. Music can be forever, and it stays with us forever. I've been a music lover my entire life and that feeling you get when you do find that one song or band is something that you can't understand until you know what it feels like.
@helenl3193

@@londonisvile yup, 100% agree with you. Sometimes it's like a heartache, sometimes it can be a gut-punch that stalls your breath... I don't even know why with some songs, they just speak to me in some way, or resonate with an experience of mine. It's incredible how art & music can do that, allow us to share things that words alone don't necessarily convey - or maybe just social convention stops us from talking in the same way
