I bet it feels good to being that step closer to having them tucked in. I'm looking forward to see your indoor outdoor comparison, I'll tell you a security I'm Hoping they both do great for ya this year.😁

That's nice shelter, DC. That'll keep that PNW liquid sunshine off them!

That is going to help them a lot. Looks like your rainy season will be starting soon. Do you get a lot of wind in your area? I was wondering if a few straps or chords weaving back and forth across the wider strips of canvas might help it from flapping around too much on windy days - if you have any. I like the way the hives have space around them. should make for easy access to the bees.

😂Ya I think it's starting tonight, might be sunny days in there but I think we are gona be wet tell next Summer. Yes the majority of the wind and rain drives from the NW of us that is the direction of the river. The wind is why I don't have them in the upper pasture. My bee yard was going to go where my garden is at first. Things worked well this year. I put a lot of planning into this season, but you never know with bees and the weather. But we either maintained stock numbers or grew a few boxes of bees. Carni when from 2 to 6, Sol 6 to 8 and the Caucasians maintained at 4. The season had a few ups and down but for the most part it went real well, except for the no honey. But that's no big deal. I'm kind of glad that it's getting close to the bees bed time, they are sitting well for food and now they don't have to contend with the rain so much. I think they are good to go this year, I feel better about my bees going into Winter then I have ever before. I'm kind of looking forward to seeing how they do over the Winter, I change things up this year but also started my Fall to Winter prep much earlier this time. Thanks for stopping by Russell, Blessed Days buddy... lol sorry for the book.

Nice set up. Will you leave that for next season or does it come down in the spring?

I can go either way with it, the 2nd set of roofs over the long bench is designed so that they are easier to remove if I wanted to. The roof's also are hinged so if I don't want to remove them I don't have to. I get a lot of Wet Winter Storms that follow the Columbia river in. So after my 1st Winter I figured the best thing I could do for them was keep that rain off them and this was the simplest solution I could see. Thanks for stopping by, Blessed Days...
