Just to clear things up to all the smart commentators here: 1) I asked him to go straight. He then turned into a side road. (First dodgy move) 2) If you listen carefully the younger dude asks "horse?" offering me a horse ride. Which is one of the things they do there to rip off tourists. When they knew I wanted a restaraunt. 3) The guy on the phone was calling someone who spoke english so that they could of taken me to a restaraunt where they would of over charged me. It happened to me many times. A simple question leads to a phone call to set up a business deal where they end up ripping you off. (I.e the following restaraunt where they charged me 70 pounds for a wrap) 4)Then they refused to let me go...if their intentions were good they would of just said ok "he doesnt want to, no worries good bye" but instead they insisted like the many other scammers I came accross. And lastly even if they invited me to go eat with their grandma, I still wouldn't of gone because of the way they were acting. And neither would of you if you were in my shoes. Cheers Kurt

They weren't trying to scam you and you need understand that they don't know English. You could have handled it in a more polite way because if they were genuine that would be extremely disrespectful. He didn't refuse to let you go he was just asking him to at least listen to the translator. Keep in mind there aren't even many tourists in that area. Nobody is asking you to go they're just saying to change the title because it's disrespectful. EVEN IF they were trying to scam you (not saying they were) that's not kidnapping.

You can clearly see the difference between the two tuk-tuk rides. One with two guys taking you somewhere where you don't wanna go trying to sell you stuff you don't want and then forcing it on you. Hey there Kurt. As I’m fluent in both Arabic and English I’ll explain to you and the viewers what exactly was said by the tuk-tuk driver and his friend. So to explain the situation of the 2 kids. At first, he was telling his buddy that they’ll just give you a ride back and forth on that road. Then once you signaled for food they understood that and the driver responded “alright we will go together to eat.” Later on, the driver asks you if he can take you on an adventure. Then due to the lack of communication, he tried to call a friend who spoke English to interpret what he was trying to tell you. I honestly think they were good kids who just got their tuk-tuk and wanted to show you around but couldn’t talk to you as they couldn’t speak English. It’s also understandable and fair that you got nervous and wanted to get off asap. Hope I explained the situation well.

They are called stream snipers. They follow Kurt around when they get any clues of where he might be. They share the info over Reddit and discord calls. Some guys can even geo-locate Kurt and find out where he’s sleeping, etc. luckily the people who obtain this information are usually delinquents and don’t have the means to get to Kurt. But sometimes they do. Like the kid In the red shirt. It might even be an acquaintance of kurts that he met one day there and Kurt noticed and just casually lets him hang around him. It’s very common for streamers for this to happen

Hey Kurt just to clear a few things up I am a Arabic Canadian and speak both well, the intentions of those boys was misinterpreted. 1. When he said horse here he was simply tryna to show you a horse or where you could go to ride 2. The guy took a turn because when you said food he replied with “ ok food let’s go together I want to eat also so he was actually excited and wanted to hang out with you which is why he put music on and got comfortable 3. He didn’t even really want to charge you the younger guys were simply just tryna to to hang out that’s why he has his friend with him 4. The phone call wasn’t to lure you in it was simply to say we want to take you to a nice spot which they wanted to eat also so the call was for the guy to tell you don’t be alarmed we changed routes we won’t charge 5. He also in Arabic clarified he was gonna go off route to eat at a better spot .... this came after they asked you if you speak Arabic and you said “a little” you shouldn’t say a little because you don’t comprehend it well he assumed you understood Arabic so he said I will take you a nice spot to eat together .. in these situations you should say you don’t speak Arabic so they don’t thing you comprehend them this confuses them because the words you speak are well said giving the impression you speak and comprehend. yeah dude thats the basic problem in egypt. Your country is living from Tourism as it has nothing else to offer. But your people are acting like they are owning the tourists. Teach them some basic manners, its not that much. I dont know anyone that wants to go to egypt anymore. Its not only the Scams, its still highly possible to get shot or stabbed even in your hotel from Islamic Fanatists. They cant provide your security in that country. No matter how many "Checkpoints" there are on the road. I appreciate Kurts work, but roaming around in Egypt alone as a white person is close to suicidal. Egypt has a huge educational and religious problem. This Country is not ready to be part of the free world as it is.
