Having spent some time in Egypt many years back, I cannot say that I was impressed. It generally felt like everyone was trying to scam. A nice Egyptian took us around and the local scammers spat at him for helping us avoid the tricks they attempted. That being said, I went wherever I wanted and never felt in danger. At the time I was young, fit and fearless.

We’re so filled with sorrow that Egypt has fell this way, thanks to the coup led by general Al Sisi , who destroyed everything you can name which led lots of people to hustle by any means necessary just to bring food to the table for their children. It’s Sad 😢 I just hope Egyptians will wake up and get rid of the most ruthless military regime in modern era, before it’s too late.

@@Men_dont_ask4_respect Yea but only the hustlers working in tourist areas are exploitative. He only went to these places which is why it seems like almost everyone is a scammer. If he went to non touristy places, it would be a different experience. Normal people (which is the majority) with normal 9-5 jobs (like teachers, doctors, engineers etc) who have nothing to do with tourism most definitely aren't scammers. I live in a high class area, nobody would give a fuck about him or his money here lol. Even middle class people are just normal people who aren't' interested in a foreigner's money and would treat him like a friend and with kindness. But since he never met normal people, only low class hustlers who scam tourists for a living, it's not surprising he had a bad experience. Even I as an Egyptian wouldn't go to tourist areas because I'd get scammed.
@Sarah.G_2 Жыл бұрын
@@mirageman2 That's because you guys go to touristy places where hustlers scam tourists for a living. Us normal Egyptians who have nothing to do with tourism (which is the majority of us) aren't like that. I live in a high class area, nobody here gives a fuck about a foreigner's money because many of us already live in luxury. I'd advise to just visit non ghetto local places instead of tourist sites but then again the whole point of visiting Egypt is to see the pyramids and monuments and stuff, nobody goes to Egypt to visit shopping malls and high end places. So that's too bad I guess.

You gotta remember this is a poor country. It’s their environment that raised them. They are just trying to put food on the table. I’m not saying it justifies some of their actions. But you have to be the better person by understanding their situation and instead of making videos on how bad you perceived them... make a video that can help and add value.

the reason they tell you not to film is because it’s unacceptable for anyone to film their women while they’re walking down the street you are a tourist and you have to respect the culture of the country your visiting mate and not complain and try to brake their rules they told you multiple times not to film respectfully and peacefully so when you get beaten up for it don’t come on youtube and complain respect the country so they respect you you going into a ghetto and you’re recording this is not a tourists place
