Dec.85, kiss plays cobo hall in detroit on the asylum tour and its the 10th anniversary of alive! Being partly recorded at cobo. Man, what a show! The vibe that night was magic, the band was on fire. During " i still love you", gene was looking up at the side of the stage and i started flailing my arms and going nuts and gene saw me and flailed his arms back at me. They played " wont get fooled again" for one of the encores and they had these suspened staircases on the stage and towards the end of the show, Eric ran up one set and tripped and fell. Paul saw it and said " have a nice trip? See ya next fall!!" The whole night was just magic. The giddy atmosphere was more intense than the reunion show in 96 at tiger stadium. I've seen kiss 27 times in my 55 years, and that asylum show at cobo in 85 was the most spine tingling of them all.

Uh All Night is so fun and a fave for me. The video is great cheese. I wish they would have played that when I saw them on the final tour. Ha! I love Lonely is The Hunter...great groove and catchy tune. Kind of Hotter Than Hell type tune without the grit and grim. So glad you love Secretly Cruel - I agree sounds like 70s Kiss and something from Rock 'n Roll Over. I dig the two fast opening Paul tunes. I always get the feeling the band is trying a little too hard with those really fast metal tunes, but I've really come to dig these two over the years. In the end, the only songs I don't care for are I'm Alive, Get All You Can Take, Burn Bitch Burn, Loves a Deadly Weapon ( love the Killers demo with the same name!!!), and Radar for Love gets to me.

this was an interesting time to be a KISS fan, especially being in middle school. i was definitely in the minority but i didn’t care, i listened to the 70s stuff the most. Asylum is better than Animalize imo and i agree with you re how bad Thrills in the Night is, Paul Thtanley’s singing RUINS it! you rule Dr. Fukk! 🤘🏼

I thought it was the weakest song on the album, it kind of sounds like a rehash of 'Keep Me Comin', which I think is the weakest song on 'Creatures Of The Night'. Each to their own

I'm a big fan of "Murder in High Heels". A super Gene song. "Thrills in the Night" is one of my ultra favourite Paul songs. "Burn Bitch Burn" may be a little weaker. But "Uh! All Night" and "Heavens On Fire" make the albums brilliant.

I'd call a draw, but if I can pick only one then 'Asylum' 'cos it has 2 fast ones haha I think the biggest mistake Kiss made in the 80's was to release only Paul Stanley songs as all the singles, they should've had some Gene songs to mix it up, like they always did before they took off the make-up.These albums are still OK, at least they were consistent but it was all downhill from here. These are my favourite songs, 3 off each: I've Had Enough (Into The Fire) While The City Sleeps Under The Gun Love's A Deadly Weapon King Of The Mountain I'm Alive

I think Asylum is overall the better album and more consistent. Animalise has more high points like under the gun and into the fire, but the low points are lower.

Asylum is better than Animalyse for me I use to hate both albums back then Now I want to buy Asylum on Vinyl. There's a few Kiss albums I find are worth to get them on vinyl 🤘

I've had enough , heavens on fire,....then the entire Asylum Album,....then the rest of Animalize....all fillers on that record. I actually never play that entire album anymore... its soo bad 👎 😫

The album cover for Asylum reminnds me of Andy Warhol's 'Interview' magazine. Animalize has one of the ugliest covers I've ever seen.
