Almudena Cid played in 4 olympic games reaching the finals and obtaining the Olympic diploma in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, she is THE ONLY RHYTHMIC GYMNAST IN THE WORLD in playing in 4 olympic finals and considering how it is classified to reach the biggest sporting event of all time I think that she is the best in the world, I LOVE HER😍😍💖 AND I LOVE RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

@@patem7379 , and I initially thought that you are from Argentina =)) And I'm from Russia. As you already may have guessed =)) BTW, I agree with you about the Russian team. That they start to lose to other teams in many respects. I watched more of them and noticed that their recent routines are old-fashioned, chaotic and lack elegance and style. I think they should change their choreographer first of all. Our individual RGs are OK but our team has become considerably weaker.

Just to add, in same 2008 Olympic Games, Italian Vanessa Ferrari from Women's Artistic Gymnastics performed another version of Nessum Dorma on her floor exercises. Eight years after, she returned to a Olympics in Rio 2016 and used the same music, with a different routine adapted to new Code rules. Really worths a check!

After the competition, Almudena and silver medalist Inna Zhukova had a little interaction where Almudena strokes Zhukova's hair as Inna cries emotionally (I wonder what they talked about). Recently, Inna Zhukova related in an Instagram post that her dream as a rhythmic gymnast was born when she watched the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, so you can imagine the impact… Inna ended 7th place in the Athens 2004 Olympics; one place ahead of Almudena. I'm very proud of both.

There is no talent in rhythmic gymnastics , just dancing about with a ribbon and the occasional free cartwheel , artistic gymnastics is where the hard work and proper gymnastics comes in
@mariaalexandropoulou2845
@mariaalexandropoulou2845 6 жыл бұрын
sure. go watch today's rg and come back to me after watching Dina Averina clubs 2017. The code and level back then were kindergarden compared to today's rhythmic gymnasts who are more athletic and fierce than ever. Rhythmic gymnastics is in no way less difficult than artistic, just like a rhythmic gymnast can't do whips and double layouts, rspectively an artistic gymnast can't do a series of frontscale and backscale pivots or jump in positions that require much more flexibility than AG while handling an apparatus.
@anibalopina
@anibalopina 6 жыл бұрын
obviously you know very little about RG. Back in 2001 and 2008 the Code was a 100% based on body elements, that's why so many gymnasts retired at 18 or 22 tops, and that is precisely why Almudena Cid stood out: she made it to 4 Olympic finals! Meanwhile there was Kapranova and Kabaeva leading the Circus. The current code of points stresses the importance of the apparatuses and the artistry of the performance, connection with the music, body expression, etc. In my opinion it works better for group routines but it allows other countries whose gymnasts are not "genetically" Russians/Ukrainian/etc.
@pyromaniac3098
@pyromaniac3098 6 жыл бұрын
teri mooney Congratulations, you wrote the stupidest comment I have ever read on KZbin. You need a lot of talent, hard work and discpline to be good in rhythmic gymnastics. You need extreme flexibility, rhythm, strength and hand-eye-coordination to do this amazing sport. Try spinning a ball on your finger while doing a front-walkover. Or do an oversplit jump with your back arched while catching a club and throwing another club in the air and later also catch this while doing another element. Catch a ball with your back in a needle position or better: backscale position. A drop can easily happen and this can cost you a medal. That's why rhythmic gymnasts have a lot of mental pressure in their competitions. Watch children training RG and you see how they cry while they stretch in an extreme oversplit. This sport is very hardcore and you can do it only until your mid-20s. I also like watching aristic gymnastics but I would never in my life slam the achievements of athletes and I would never say something stupid like "omG thEse aRitiStic gYmaNsts aRe noT fLexiBle anNd caN't do goOd pIRoUEttes waTch rhYthMic gYmnaStics, wHeRe tHeRe iS rEaL aRt aNd aeStHetiCs'.
