What does a record made of WOOD sound like? | CNC milling phonograph record grooves

There have been a lot of DIY attempts to make records, but not ones that use an obviously stupid method like trying to cut grooves in a piece of wood with a CNC machine. Could it possibly work?
This technique uses a CNC toolpath generated from an existing WAV file, so I guess this technically counts as digital mastering. My code (python) is here if you'd like to try for yourself [github.com/aln...]
