Okay to everyone who wants to start arguments over "whose song it is" it's Aloe Blacc, Avicii, and Mike Eizinger's collectively. Mike and Avicii came up with the chord progression and melody. And Aloe Blacc wrote all the lyrics. Avicii said in an interview with MTV "We came up with the chord progression and melody, but no real lyrics. None of us sing and we really needed to get that demo down and the only person I knew that lived in LA was Aloe, so I called him and he was free. Lyrics come really easy to him so he wrote them in a couple of hours and we finished the track." They recorded an acoustic version that night, and Avicii made the dance mix most people are familiar with a few days later. So give them both their dues. It's not one or the others song, it's both their song. And the Mike guy too🤣 So stop arguing and enjoy the good music.

I agree with you nomad. As a unified Nation who appreciates music of the heart, no matter who wrote it or who's singing. It's all about how the music makes you feel. Not being ignorant and arguing over who sang or who wrote the song. Only people who have nothing better to do with their life, argue over things a kindergartener wouldn't give a hoot who sang it or wrote it, they would just lay back and enjoy the sound that touches their heart and causes them to move. Just to get it straight people, AVICII and ALOE co-wrote this song together, and before that, Avicii came up with the IDEA of the song and made the melody together with Mike Einziger. After a couple of months of the original song topping the charts across the globe, Aloe decided to release an EP called the Wake Me Up EP which featured the acoustic version of Wake Me Up, not the original version. It seems like many people are confusing Avicii's version for a remix and this version for the original song, but that's where everyone are wrong. Wake Me Up [original mix] (first performed live March 23 2013, single released June 2013) - Produced by Avicii / Co-produced by Mike Einziger / Co-written by Aloe Blacc. Wake Me Up [Acoustic] (first performed June 28 2013, released in Wake Me Up EP in October 2013) - Co-written by Avicii and Aloe Blacc.

buwer hassan he did give him credit in the cd booklet for his album True, and Aloe has also claimed that he doesn't really care that he isn't credited as it brings a mystery to whom the singer is.. But yes, I do believe he should have been credited anyway, but when I think twice about it I don't think it's Avicii's choice not to credit the singers.

Ryan Oboryshko That is partly correct. One thing you forgot though is that Tim Bergling is Avicii, and that the whole idea first started off through Avicii and Mike Einziger. Aloe only has the rights for the acoustic version of the song, that was released over 4 months after the original version. Avicii's version is NOT a remix.
