I look forward to seeing ADC to Challenger mmr some day. I play mostly ADC and support, and a lot of what it shown here doesn't feel applicable to me. It is making me rather envious of toplaners and bruisers in general though haha. To think you get to just proxy waves and play for jungle camps and everything, it looks really fun and easy. Interrested to see how you tackle the perhaps more unique macro decisions that ADCs make over sidelaners.

ADC is easier to climb than top for sure. In your case I can advise you to take up Top role, try to imply what he showed you, if you do not really like going top you can go back to ADC/Sp, then you have the idea how to hold wave, play the bounce, tempo to drake, etc. ADC requires kinda strong micro to position and maximize dmg output, from my experience if you can poisition well and kill them all you rocket climb with ADC till enemies know how to hard focus you (I think around Emerald, I mean real Emerald level not those fresh accounts), but then you support and your team probably know how to protect you, so I can say ADC climbing pattern is like, your team is getting better along with you.

Proxying in low elo might not be that replicable because when the enemy team sees you, they will come for you even though it fucks up their tempo. And your team won't capitalize on that most of the time. For example, I have seen too many mid laners trying to follow their counterparts instead of pushing lane and taking free plates, even though they are soooo late to the fight/play

Your best bet in low elo is to proxy one wave and immediately back or go back up towards the tower to poke down the enemy laner. You're right that in lower elo's (Emerald and lower) they'll just go for you because they're monkeys and they see a free kill. Also, it's important to communicate with your team ESPECIALLY in low elo, because if no one knows what to do or how to work together, you're gonna have the 0/8 ezreal calling the team trash after he fed lane.

Imo, freezing will always be better than proxying in low elo. Not being able to walk up to cs while also not being able to gank you will make most enemies completely lose mental.

However you will have to play a lot of matches to know when you can fight, when to proxy, when to roam, when to push and when to hold lane, when you can take "bad trades", when to recall, how to set up a lane. That requires matches with YOUR champ. The fundamentals are universal, but you need to apply them to your own micro-mechanics.
