I really appreciate when you can lose in a game, but can trace the blame to your choice instead of something random. It makes me want to play the game again to redeem myself.

I usually prefer when losing is out of my hands, because I suck at games and like it when I can blame bad luck and randomness. LOL! :) Probably why I like old Games Wokshop games - roll a one you're dead, roll a six you win! ;)

I am not really a student of cinematic history - I had no idea about those films and seeing the potential connection/influence to the Alone Against... series is pretty cool.

I played a lot of Alone Against Fear this October, including both of the supplements. I agree that this supplement is a bit small (then again, it's only $4), but it fit really well into my campaign as a mission / side quest. I really enjoyed it, especially as I watched the first two blind dead movies to really get me into the theme of the supplement (and the supplement does a great job of evoking the feeling of the movies).

An excellent video and perfect timing as I was just wondering about playing an adventure for Halloween. I was thinking about Fighting Fantasy House of hell but Alone Against the Dark is a much better choice. I haven’t played it in ages and, like you, think it’s Andrea Sfiligoi‘s best game. I feel a new campaign coming on.

Great review! It’s a shame this isn’t a bit richer, and as you were flipping through the first thing that caught my eye was that all the houses have the same entry? Why not separate ones? That’s a bad idea. The design look great though, better than a lot of four against. What a great map too, love the map!

That is more a scenario. I like more the theme of Alone against fear than the 4 against darkness, just wish that some more interesting material came for this game.
