I have taken a lot of people out in the wildeness through the years. I saw the signs fast on the brother. Fear of a strange environment , being alone, leading to panic and " injury". Most have tapped where I took them and learned to always have them drive separately, until I know they won't bail. I have been there myself Winter mountain climbing in 1985 . I'm glad experienced people calmed me down, but I was scared for our lives. We ran out of food lost and were in a lot of trouble. We had no button. he could push that button to get out. I was referring to her CONSTANT crying through both her seasons. Look back, watch the clips, she never made it through an clip without crying..... Freaking annoying. The first thing I said to hubby when I found out she was on the show, was "oh god here we go, all this chick does is cry" Then true to form, within a minute after she opened her mouth (Still at base camp) she was already snivelling......... I reiterate, soooooooo Glad she's gone.
@Fedaykin86 жыл бұрын
Not sure why you'd need a knife, axe and saw... get a good 7"-9" camp knife that can be a chopper and do finer tasks, and a folding saw for making shelter and cutting firewood. Axe seems redundant and so many people chose one.
@Jona7Fer6 жыл бұрын
Feyd Darkholme you would burn too many calories chopping with a large knife, this contest is all about conserving calories but you need to process a lot of fire wood for warmth which a saw is the most efficient. But I would want the axe in case the saw blade broke or the wood was frozen.

some good choices, some really not good choices... 1.Take a bivy bag rather than a plain sleeping bag, then you have shelter as well as a bag. 2. Take a hatchet, not an axe, can do the same thing and weights less. 3. Take a wetstone instead of a saw, can then keep you axe and knife in good shape. 4. The knife is a good choice, would have chosen one with a bit more belly to the blade. 5. The ferrocerium rod to start fires is a good choice. 6. Take a water container, the frying pan is all good, but you have no way to carry water anywhere. 7. The 5 Qt. frying pan is a good choice. 8. Replace both your snare wire and your fishing line with 500 feet of 550 firecord, you will be able to do both snaring and fishing as well as have plenty of cordage for whatever you need including repairs to tools. There are 7 strands inside the cord so you would technically have 3500 feet of fishing line and or snare line and one of them can be used to start a fire in damp conditions. 9. The emergency rations are good, personally I would have chosen something a bit more dense. 10. The Bow and arrows are a good choice, but take wooden arrows rather than aluminum, you can replace them in the field Anyway, just my two cents worth...
@martinerhard84476 жыл бұрын
Sorry but a lot of your suggestions arent allowed or free to choose. Taking a wetstone instead of a saw is a very very very bad choice. You can sharpen your axe using rocks or even get your knife razor sharp by using mud as a compound. The saw is necessary to preserve calories while progessing wood. A hatchet is not the same as a axe. Shorter handle gives you less leverage and power behind each swing Bivi bag counts as a additional item without sleeping bag included
@AntonioBarba_TheKaneB6 жыл бұрын
also paracord don't work for snares. The small animals like rabbits will chew it like nothing and escape. Hogs will also chew and tear apart the nylon fibers. Metal wire is what you really want to snare small critters.
