Larry was my favorite. He dealt with a lot of his own personal issues and pushed himself as far as he could go. Honestly, he is closest to how I would've been in the same situation. What you did was huge Larry.

Same here, then season 5 hit and the guy was right back at it- super negative and cursing all the time. Mad because there are mice in his shelter... well set deadfall traps in your shelter like the other guy did. If he spent half as much time using his brain instead blowing up he could have easily won.

What a beautiful family you have Larry. You are already a winner of more than $500,000! Look at what you have. There is nothing to be sorry about. Remember that in the end it's is all about family. Nothing else. I wish you a prosperous future. I am certain your exposure on Alone will hopefully present opportunities for you. You have my utmost respect for what you went through and the ability to go as far as you did. Let it now "rain fish".

I've finished today my first Alone's season - this second one - and I have to admit that I was VERY impressed with this warm genuine welcome of Larry. His family is so sweet. David's too but this was growing unexpected and proves that we should never judge anybody. Without knowing, I was judging Larry by questioning his family healthy relationship. Although Larry has been the participant that I have related most, I never liked his bitter negativity that almost got contagious. Man, that negativity was so heavy that every time his positivity started to show (like a miracle!)... he could kill it by even contradicting himself. Wow! In the end, he showed that he is a good soul. He showed/reminded us/me that everyone has a good soul, no matter the kind of the inner problems/demons that everyone struggles with.

way to hang in there Larry! I have to admit you stayed longer than I thought you would. And, you darn sure stayed longer than I could/would have stayed. And probably more than 99% of the people. I was pulling for Nicole for most of the show, and then David. David made it more personable early on, talking about his kids. Larry didn't seem to connect until the show was almost over. I think the last 3 suvivors should get paid. at least something. maybe $500,000 , $100000 , $25,000. There wasn't much time difference, between Larry and David. One gets a half million, and one gets nothing. Still, the best show on now!

I was very saddened he didn't win the money but im so pleased to finnaly see that he went home and was ok with it all. Ha ha, he was going on and on about how he missed food so much when he was out there, how hard that was, he was already on the verge of tears just talking about how awful it was to miss FOOD -- and then his wife interjects and says, "...and your FAMILY". Larry did a good job weaseling his way out of that one (paraphrase)": oh, but, but, if I thought of you guys then it would have been too much I wouldn't have made it! So I pushed the thought down. But I knew you were supporting me and rooting for me all the way, and that kept me going." Okayyyy. This man is EXTREMELY lucky to have a loving wife, and good and loving kids.

Being from Rush City, I understand the love of that bakery!! It was voted best in the Nation! And let me tell you, if I had a donut from there in the back of my mind while being on a deserted island for months, versus $500,000 weighing on my mind...I'd pick the donut every day all day!!! If you ever have a chance to come to Rush City Minnesota, the only attraction is the best bakery in the nation! And boy is it worth it! They're closed on Sunday's, so plan accordingly! Lol!

I have fond memories of riding my bike up there on Saturday mornings and getting boxes and bags of donuts, pastries, apple fritters, cream cheese danishes, cookies, muffins, etc... Larry's haul of 2 boxes, a bag, and a cupcake was a typical haul I'd bring back for the family!

He was truly trying to survive with the basics, shelter, water food. He knew his family was in a warm home with plenty of food, and that they supported him being on this show. His comment "did" come across a bit crudely, but I don't think that is what he meant. He could not ignore his rumbling aching stomach, but that pain served him well and got him to strap on his boots in the morning to go hunt for more limpets. Then dream of pastries! Lets be kind and supportive.

We know Larry from Pathfinders. I was not happy that I could not have my 5 year old grandson watch the show with me because Larry decided to swear at every chance. My grandson does not hear that language here at home and I'll be dang if he hears it on a History Channel show. Then wishing i'll will on his other hosts was the absolute end for us, so yeah, zero respect, zero sympathy and zero empathy for his mid life crises.
