This is another great production, JD., both lovely and sad at the same time. As a lover of all animals and nature, Nick's struggle in life but still managing to carve out a niche for himself was somehow satisfying in the telling. Panter protecting him in death made me cry but the community's respect for him and erecting of the stone made me smile. Thank you. 🤗

The Appalachian mountains are filled with people such as Nick. We are simple people who ask for nothing but equality and the chance and means given to anyone else. We are also some of the most friendly and giving people I know. I've witnessed the poorest of my neighbors give their last dime to help their neighbor. The door is always open to a stranger and there's always a place at the table. I love my people.

I've often wondered about the people of appalchia. I have watched movies and videos and y'all, and to be honest some of those videos don't shine a good light on y'all's people, but I know that every place in the world has bad people. I live in Texas, always have, and I am a truck driver that has been to the foothills of Tennessee and travelled the mountains of West Virginia and all points in between, and I never had a bad situation in either place. I like how simple some of y'all live, not caring about the niceties of life such as new automobiles or smart phones.

I lived in Ellijay GA for many years. My father in law gave us 3 acres on a high ridge. We built a home with stunning views of Fort Mountain and the Conasauga wilderness area. I commuted 85 miles to Atlanta to work for 13 years because I could make triple there. It was worth it to me to live in paradise. Then my wife got the notion she wants to sell and move to Florida to be closer to our girls and grandson. It's been downhill ever since LOL. I loved that place, it killed my soul leaving there. I kick myself in the ass every day for letting her talk me into moving. ☹
