Being comfortable alone in public is something I want to somewhat master this year. I’m comfortable being alone doing errands, going to the library, or shopping but I still dread eating or going to the movies alone. Thanks for the encouragement ❤️😌

Going to the movies alone in itself is a great way to meet people. It makes it easy to just go up to people since you don’t have friends to ditch and people may feel more comfortable approaching you since you’re alone (hopefully that doesn’t frighten you more then it excites you)

Great video! I’ve been hating my job recently because it’s 100% remote and I live alone, thus blame my job for my dry social life and how dull I feel everyday. But I just realised that instead of blaming my job for my loneliness and unhappiness, this is a great opportunity to learn how to be happy and fulfilled on my own. I feel so much better since adopting this mindset and doing things that I love. Hope you make this a series, this journey of reaching self-fulfilment sounds so wholesome ❤

It is true as a young adult we are so reliant on your friends but thanks for having this moment of vulnerability. But by being alone if you want to meet new people you make yourself open to meeting someone new or making new friends, Or forming a deeper friendship with yourself.

the way that you filmed this was so beautiful and i love how you framed your thoughts. there's so much growth that happens when you're alone and people tend to forget that and instead think that it's a sign of un-productivity, lack, and deprivation. learning how to be on your own and enjoy time with yourself is one of the most important things i think you have to learn.

Today I drove more than an hour to get to a certain beach in France where I used to come as a child. I wanted to take my bf here...until he turned into an ex a few weeks ago. So now, I went alone to prove to myself that I can get over all these fears, jealousy and self-doubt and that I AM the stronger one. SO HAPPY that I did it!! What's up next? - I am moving out of my parent's house and starting a new job, seriously, a break-up was the best thing that could've happened to me and I have never felt closer to being with myself ❤ Being alone excites me, because I focus on my career and on my own self-love and acceptance. Can't wait to meet new people!

Something I learned when I was about 21 was that I would often "use" my friends to avoid being alone, instead of being there because I genuinely wanted to spend time with them. They never noticed, but it was something I committed to changing so that I cherished the time with them more as opposed to just doing so to stay out of my own head.

personally i loved this video. as someone whose turning 19 in two days, I've been fearful of this transition into my last teen year, but you've provided me peace. I'm no longer nervous or scared to grow up. I'm excited to see what awaits. I'm excited for the memories yet to be had and the people I'm yet to meet and the sunsets I'm yet to witness and the achievements I'm yet to make. I've been feeling extra lonely recently and this also served as a reminder that I'm the only constant in my life. quite literally stuck with myself until death lol. sounds grim, but it was a wake up i needed. will be subscribing from now on out. glad my homepage blessed me with your presence. thank you girl. i needed this.

Honey, I’m much older than you and I can tell you that eating alone, taking yourself on dates… it’s invaluable. Eventually if and when you settle and start a family… alone time becomes precious. I look forward to my solo dates in the city where I can remember what it’s like to enjoy my own company outside of being someone’s wife or mom, plus, when you’re alone… many places that require reservations will bend the rules for you. So I like to get dressed to the nines, hit up the finest restaurants for lunch and just take in the city. Plus my hubby is not allowed on my solo dates… if he insists on tagging along I tell him that I’m stopping at the hair or nail salon- he hates those places 🤣🤣

Gurl the minute i saw your video in recommended I was like RELATABLE and as i got to the end i know it's not just me who feels this way or thinks about things like this. friendship has been on my mind for a while too a year ago i thought i needed to have a bigger friend group and go hang out all the time but its funny how as time goes by your perspective on things like that change and now you just want to be with a close circle of people you actually enjoy spending time with, and learn to spend more time with yourself. I live in new york too (Queens Borough) this summer i feel like it's the loneliest i've felt and can't wait for college to start again so i can be out the house. I am an introvert but the pandemic made me stay indoors far too long i can't wait to be outside but when i'm feeling down or feeling extremely hyper but i don't have anyone to hang with I make my 45 min train ride to koreatown and chill there most of the time. When the weather gets cooler then i spend more time exploring to find new bookstores, cafes, i especially look for a more vintager vibe and then discover food places like ramen shops and boba places. New york has a lot to offer for the lonely people because we find the hidden gems. sorry this was so long i just related to your video a lot. HAVE FUN EXPLORING!

totally agree with your statement regarding being around people. you wanna be with them bcos you _want it_ , not bcos you *have to* . sometimes I have a fomo although most of the times it didn't affect me. but it happens you know. when I have to force myself to be around people bcos I'm that nosy what are they doing without me. it is very mentally draining... i wish I could changed that

It`s better to be alone, than surrounded by assholes or who may be toxic . The trick is to learn to do things on your own. Reality is that nobody cares if you do things on your own, like eating, going to the movies and so on. We are trained from we are children to worry about " what others think", when in reality this is what " others " are thinking about most of the time. That is they worry about themself. Beeing with others is great, but it is important that both parts are on the same page. And both " invest" the same amount of energy in the interaction. People also tend to " come and go, and come back again" in ones life. This is just how things are.
