My bestie and I did exactly that at 17: worked, saved, got passports and Youth Hostel passes, camping equipment and backpacks, bought Pan Am student fare tickets, and one summer jetted off to Europe, no itinerary, no specific plans. We only live once, and since it appears I'm a born adventurer, that's how I've rolled. I can't imagine being any different, not wanting to know and actually see and experience different cultures and places as a habit. It's not a matter of affording it, it's about being determined to go no matter what. It's a blast. I never want to look back and wish I had done this or that. You're so right about the idea that they should have stayed another night in that cabin and not taken the chance they did in the rain. Here in NH, many many have perished on only our 6300 ft. Mt. Isabel! I’ve been subscribed to your channel and following your adventures for almost three years and am amazed that you’re adventuring so close to where I live and play! Looks like you both had quite the adventure at Gold Mint Hut. I’d love to meet you someday and hope you have an amazing stay during your time in Alaska! Sending positive vibes from Wasilla!🌄🧡

Isabel, I was stationed in Alaska for 7 years when I was in the military. The Summers are beautiful, but the Winters are brutal. Don't get me wrong, you have to be wary of the Bears, but the Moose are just as bad if not worse. Did anyone tell you the state bird of Alaska is the mosquito? 🤣😂 You are definitely out in the bush where your cabin is. I'm glad you and your sister got to experience Alaska.

My husband and I plan adventures like this all the time. We have no idea where we are going and just wing it. Best vacations ever. But…Omg! Why didn’t you stay put for a day? That seems so dangerous especially when you’re unprepared for rock climbing. I hope everything went okay.

It's funny when commenters think that every detail of prep and planning in Isabel's adventures are shown in each video. Don't you think it would be much longer to record every little thing and make it a bit boring to watch? I love her videos as they are. Excellent editing and footage are key to this channel!

My brother lives in Alaska. In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful place on earth … but it has many different dangers, and should not be taken lightly. We didn’t go anywhere without serious protection, and bear spray ‘ain’t it’. I’ve enjoyed your past adventures, but you were a couple of l u c k y girls. I’m glad you made it home safe.

A trip to Alaska with no pictures of the beautiful landscape and mountains.🤔 Did you fly to Anchorage and see the big stuffed bears who eat humans every year? I lived in Alaska for seven years! Beautiful mountains, awesome fishing, and great hunting with lots and lots of mosquitoes during the wet summer months! You two both must of been eaten alive wearing short sleeves and no mosquito nets. I've hunted all over Alaska and I would NEVER hike without my 44 mag and bear stopping cast bullets! Bear spray would have NEVER deterred a determined and angry momma bear with Cubs! Very very dangerous for two naive young women with short sleeve shirts to be hiking in Alaska!😉

Yes, Isabel should add a disclaimer, not to do what she does. This was unsafe for sure. I think this is the sister who is to be married, I don't think I would have let her go if I was the fiancé.

I have been following you for a couple years already. I love watching you build and plant and harvest. Small word of caution; Alaska IS DANGEROUS and there are many species that can have you as a food source. I know you enjoy the wilderness as do I, however Alaskan animal predator types travel in groups or packs. bears spray only makes you feel safe. armed guides are cheap enough there. Word to the wise
@denverdubois58352 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah. I'd never do either of these two expeditions without a guide. I know my limits. With a guide, though, it would be wonderful.
