I respect anyone who attempts alone... Probably the realist reality show on tv... Never somewhere mild, always someplace with extremely cold temps, with little food around.

bali song that’s your cross to bear brother, but you really shouldn’t spend so much time criticizing other. Life is a journey, just as on the show, we do what we can, the best we know how at any given time and with what we have at hand. The show isn’t designed to mimic real life situations perfectly, understand and respect that. In real life most of us would have more and be more prepared for where we were going. We are dropped with little information about where we are going and do the best we can in that situation. Please understand that and respect that we are all just doing the best we can, in life and on the show! Give us the grace to be humans. You obviously have some skill and knowledge. But the manner you presented it is confrontational and off putting. There a better way to share and comment! We appreciate your interest, thank you very much. We just ask for some compassion and grace.

I love this woman !!! Had to respect her reason for tapping out . She was my top pick of winning top place . Strong Canadian woman . Hard to come by these day to find anyone that can live off the land . Michelle lived off the harsh NWT land , as most tap out in the first week . Amazing how these contestants keep getting better with hunting and trapping . Hands down Michelle has me beat , I’d last a weekend .

Be interesting to see what happens. She has no camp knife or a bow. But has snare wire and modified multi tool. It'll be a contest between michelle the passive hunter against boys with bows. She could always make a bow or spears I suppose. Well see

Her story was so heartbreaking, you can tell she needed the money. Season 6 and 7 were the best seasons, but had some of the most financially desperate people. I wanted all of them to win the money. And boy was she tough, it was admirable, but I have yet to see someone win this show on toughness alone, you need toughness and finely tuned survival skills.

When she found the drum I immediately thought “ dude there’s your wood stove, smoker, oven and clothes dryer !!! What a find!” Then she used it for a fishing float 🤦‍♂️. I use a barrel stove outdoors and they put out serious heat and will dry clothes in the most cold and dampest conditions in a mere hour or two if you set it up right.

I watched all five seasons of the show and one question that people might have would be how much of luck is involved in winning. I would say that probably very little luck is involved in winning maybe some bad luck is involved with losing but winning with good luck doesn’t usually happen. Probably the most amazing thing that someone needs to win this show is to have the proper mindset that is totally Key.

the drag log needs to weigh at least 20% as much as the animal weighs, so as to significantly slow it down/wear it out, without fully testing the strengh of your cable with the animal's full strength when it's fresh. The log will leave an obvious trail for you to follow. and make it much safer for you to sneak up within 10m and arrow the animal thru the chest with a broadhead (and then flee)

if you braid 4 segments of the 20 ga wire into a cable, it's strong enough to strangle a deer, or to hook a caribou or moose to a drag log. By setting the 6" OD loops up on 2-3" high forked stakes, in a proven game trail at a water source, with some of the salt used as bait, you'll greatly increase your odds of a catch. The slingbow is then adequate to dispatch the big critter, after it's exhausted itself from dragging the log. The slingbow is also the way to "command-trip" the doors at each end of the 4x4x20 ft duck trap, catching a dozen ducks at once. If you shred, boil and roast cambium, and use fish guts, you can bait ducks and gulls into a trap. 20 ducks have just as many calories as a 100 lb deer offers. about 40,000 and much more fat than venison. or fish. You need that fat.

Michelle you were awesome I think the people that produce this show need to thing the rules over a bit. While you got it done I am embarrassed for the men. I think when those two left the producer should have replaced them, It was supposed to be about 3 people surviving

So, after watching dozens of these episodes it would seem they all take the same 8 out of ten items. It only comes down to rations or not, bow and arrow or not, axe or not, and bivy or not. Although one person did take a bow drill instead of a fero rod once. Everything else is basically the same. This segment of the show is becoming, meh.

@bali song Not a survivalist, but if a reputed expert picks the same things you did, that would seem to be some solid choices. But I've never seen the show, so I don't know how it all turns out. Never been to Alaska, but might go one day. Sure not backwoodsing it.
