Nice to see you back on the road and dropping by. A bit of advice I was given around wild park ups. Always park in the direction for immediate drive off. No three point turns reversing out of your spot. So if there was any reason that you felt unsafe and needed to be straight off you will not be trying to get the van facing the right direction. That also goes with having chocks and screen covers out.

Done that trip (from sussex) to Aviemore a few times..........although I stop over when I need power/washing etc at Dalraddy, just before Aviemore, off the A9, which is a brilliantly scenic road.........and yes its a long slog, but so worth it when heading up, not so good when heading back down south.

Hope you had a good overnight at Hanchurch, it’s a local spot to me and one of our favourite dog walking places. Great in the summer exploring the woods, especially when all the potholes aren’t full of water…. Fun fact, you parked about 300 yards from a massive new underground water storage facility, cost £11m and holds 40 million litres of drinking water / 17 Olympic sized swimming pools.

I live an hour north of Aviemore and I drove my van too and back from cockfosters twice last year stopped in Penrith both times for a few hours sleep. Great having a van you can have a sleep in when you feel tired.

Hey Will! Great intro… it’s not good when you’re under the weather, you sometimes just have to go through it. I bet at times you wanted your mum there though, we are all like that however tough and old we are. I’ve just had a week in hospital with DVT, on injections daily and oxygen. Had a HORRENDOUS first day+ but when I got off chairs and trollies the rest was much better. Still breathing and walking and at 75 that’s a definite plus! Lots about the NHS at the moment,but everybody there were STARS and went above and beyond at all times - kudos to all! Riki please take note!
