you dont need ANY saw and if you need to reach up high, all you have to do is lash your smaller saw to a pole. It aint rocket science. There's no reason to be cutting much firewood at all. You dont need a warming fire, if you know anything. You dont need many poles for your shelter and they can be pretty short and small OD, too. Ditto for your raised pole bed. Everyone is stupid about putting lots of short poles cross wise to the bed. MUCH less work to have 1/3rd as many poles, 3x as long and lay them lengthwise as the bed.

they are done getting fish. Those shallow rivers freeze solid. So the fish all migrate to deeper lakes You get less than a month after launch and then the fish are all gone. They dont know how to catch many fish anyway. You dont need a lot of netting when the water is shallow, to reach WAY out into a river. Angle the net upstream, and every now and then, pull it over to the shore, trapping a lot of fish in that 'v' shape of the net.

@user-ci2mn1oy3w nah, we caught pike in the PM river during the winter in froze over and shallow inlets. I don't think its going to be a problem. Staying out in the cold, different story.
