Jonas is the nicest badass ever. Gives a very good analysis of all the cast

Jordan is fun to listen to on 1.5x or 2x speed. Makes a guy feel like he’s in class being brought up to speed on centuries of work done by great thinkers. Professor Jonas can you repeat that, my pencil broke... “Here, take this one I made out of the 4th wolverine that I clubbed while riding this albino reindeer last season”

Haha 2x speed is the only way to listen to me 😆

@@hobojordo As you know, Alone on TV is very drawn out sometimes, that’s why I started doing 1.5/2x But, I never got to hear what your voice sounded like at this speed because whenever you or roland were on I would slow it back down so I didn’t miss anything. You guys are like encyclopedias: straight to the point, like how I imagine many most mountain men and Russians are. I have a theory that your time spent in Siberia has given you a really cool dialect. It’s always a pleasure to hear you talk, especially from memory.

Normally I can pick the winner in the first few episodes, but this season it’s difficult. I like the fact that all four participants have different strategies. The hunter, the fisherman, the bear, and the scavenger/collector.

The gill net restriction until 45 days into the season is pretty disappointing. Do you know why the restriction exists? Maybe to protect spawning salmon? In any event, it's made a difficult area brutal. I really appreciate your dedication to putting out these timely comments about the Alone episodes. Your perspective is quite valuable. Cheers from Southeast Alaska, Greg Chaney

From comments on previous reviews from Jordan i gathered that there was a landslide so there was less salmon. these where local hunting regulations only applicable to non-natives. I'm paraphrasing the comment from memory. Check out one of Jordans previous videos on this season it should still be there. Edit: Here i found it for you: Rene Klein 1 maand geleden @Jordan Jonas They are on Title Land of the X'eni Gwetin Band from Nemiah Valley. They put up some very strict rules for Non-Indigenous people. First off, there is very few Moose to start with, the Salmon have been few and far between for the last couple of years, in part due to a landslide on the Fraser River and also commercial overfishing off-shore. The First Nations refrained from fishing because of that for the second year back then. Next, there are deer, but they are not plentiful and they are skittish. It sounds like a great place for a survival show-and it is, really, because it shows how hard it can be to obtain food. …not so good for entertainment, though..but there are places much better suited for wildlife not too far away so why should they stick around. Cheers 🤙🏼 (copy pasted)

You're right. The hunter who's a big guy, that builds a boat and sets his net has a strategy that would be hard to beat. I feel for Biko, he's looking good but. Theresa is pretty up beat, and didn't notice that till you said. . Coulter..... just wow !! Clay could have practiced more with Gill netting by the looks. But that is typical editing from the production team. Gotta love these guys effort for getting this far. We're privileged to see it unfolding.

Participants continue to demonstrate a high level of craftspersonship. Theresa has been a fine forager and her strategy of bringing a ration in is probably what has kept her average daily calorie intake at 1500. Just for the fun of it: I speculate that Episode 10 will mark the end and that it will be a double-length episode.

I wonder why they chose an area without much wildlife and a lake that is so tough to fish. This is like “Alone in the Hood” The Wood Hood. Your season is still the best. I hope they bring you on as a producer/consultant.

I think they were limited to locations that they were allowed to be and film due to COVID-19 and the border closures.

At this point I don’t see how anyone can catch Clay. Theresa is relying solely on plants and will starve out or, per the preview, will have an injury that means she taps. Biko has the weight to stay but, at least from the edit, is miserable and talking about home constantly. I see a tap in the future especially if he can’t get his net to produce. Colter’s boat is finally paying off but looking at him he is very very thin and I don’t think any amount of fish he can bring in right now will bring him back to where he needs to be to last once the weather turns. Clay is the only one who didn’t look like he was walking around like a completely worn out 80 year old. He’s still got energy and spirit and, I suspect, a good amount of deer meat left. Even if he runs out of deer meat and can’t produce anything else (though rumour is he might get a lion) he’s still miles ahead of Colter and Theresa physically and Biko mentally. Just my .02.

It's not over till it's over. Clay is the one to beat, but previous seasons have shown anything can happen...

I'm telling you i'f Biko just sits still drinking pine tea and eats some berries every now and then he might actually win
@jamesellsworth96733 жыл бұрын
THANKS FOR SHARING THE fun speculations! I agree that Theresa may Tap for low food availability coupled with knowing she has done everything she wanted to show folks how to do. In past seasons, when a participant talks a lot about family and failure to find food, they are about to go home. Biko seems to be about there. If Colter loses the boat beyond repair and can't fish, there is no point in his staying. He is close to a Body Mass Index medical pull. CLAY's hunting skills produced the most total food so far this season. Hunting the cat could keep him interested...and if he brings it in he is good to go.
@micahhittinger60833 жыл бұрын
I understand that there are hunting and fishing restrictions but.... I’m pretty sure if I was “Alone” and starving in the wilderness, I would just go ahead and put a gill net in the water anyway. Who’s gonna catch you?? Just don’t make any footage of using it until day 45. Your supposedly all Alone. Right?!
@hobojordo3 жыл бұрын
That's a possibility..all the restrictions sort of encourage breaking the rules and could disadvantage those that follow them closely, which is a bummer
@jamesellsworth96733 жыл бұрын
This season, nobody is thriving enough to have done that. Even after day 45, only Colter, with his boat, has been able to productively place a net.
@lobopropredatorcontrol3 жыл бұрын
They must not be able to trap small rodents up there! Sure seems to be hard place to make a living!

Past seasons have shown that 'small rodents' equal 'small food supply' or a medical Tap out.
