You know what's really sad? He helped all these people, cared for them, he throw his own childhood away and his live on the line in multiple ways, times and places. He never asked for something back either. He just wanted to help and protect the people he loved. And now...they don't need him anymore. Everyone has now a nice and happy ending but Steven...? He never gets anything back. Nothing he can hold on to. The only thing he keeps are the bad and traumatizing memories. He's a shell of the young, friendly guy he was, was going through hell, beyond and back and deals now with the trauma, while everyone else lives they "happily ever after". It's sad to see him break. But after all that and no payoff, i can't say I'm surprised.

Honestly, your words have really put into prospective the full weight of what Steven is going through. I haven't thought of Steven's situation like that and used to see his emotional pain and trauma as him not accepting that friends move on in life and saw it as a form of selfishness. But this post really puts Steven under the lens of a more sympathetic character that shares the traits of a tragic hero.

Wow so many things... *exhale* First he must have hurt connie or they broke up normally. Steven tres to get comfort from Rose's room. Where all most of his problems come from, being wrongly identified as her, being different from her and being used to fixing her problems. So he must have been very depressed from losing her, to go into that room. Plus, he is so different from who he used to be he fights against fake Connie. The room is even afraid of him now. (Now sentient? Doesn't matter) Lastly the butterfly, the symbol for problems, but it always a mental image. Howeverit is now, real butterfly here a bad sign. Either his feelings are so strong it was manifested as real or has is going nonsense. Losing himself in his own mind. Love this vide Edit: HOW DID I GET THIS MANY LIKES.

Well Here's My theory it's not complicated: so it begins when steven enters white's ship the second time (yes it's after Steven remembers everything about his mom) and when the part where white pulls Steven from his gem then here comes the problem so Steven's mother said she gave up her form so it was a empty for Steven but once white pulled out steven gem it stopped being steven's gem and more like pink as pink steven and oh when they fused it made it worse because Steven inherited all of his mother's problems once they fused and other powers like rage Steven but the problem with that is it's not a power it more like pink's tantrum and since that's pink's gem and not Steven's anymore it's turning him pink and making him angry and go out of control until the thing he wants is givin to him or until the tantrum is done. Which sucks but here is another problem Steven is losing his ability to talk to humans since pink didn't know how to properly to talk humans! So that's why he feels like he losing every one because he keeps everything bottled up and will tell it to someone he's really close to like connie and Greg (also this is another thing that correlates to him to his mother! Because pink was only close to her two pearls and felt like she could only tell them her problems and could not tell her family how she felt) which he could tell his feelings to because those characters didn't need help like unlike the crystal gems which are supposed to be the adults but not because their unstable and need therapy from Steven so he can't tell them connie isn't a gem so she can't help him and Greg isn't either and all they can do is comfort him so he is slowly breaking because it's not a stable fusion since pink is also unstable which makes sense seeing who she's getting taught by(their the most stupidest Diamonds I have ever seen!) In the end the fusion may corrupt this human hybrid called Steven now which is just pink steven now! the messed up part is that the only person who can help him is young steven because he hadn't gone through this crap yet!! Wish we could have a cross over to where young steven meets his older self and helps him also takes care of each other since younger wouldn't have to help the unstable crystal gems he would focus on him self and get a parent who gets him and is like him. Edit: that's not Steven talking it's his mom and if connie did get hurt by steven it was by his mother not him and he can't handle all of his mother's emotions so it's more like a mental break down he keeps having because of his mother

At this point, Steven just lives for the drama. He doesn’t want to move on. You would think after making peace with the universe, he would just relax, but he’s getting stressed out over nothing. His dad is alive, well, and rich. All his gen friends are well and worship him, and the diamonds love him. He also learned that he is his own gem. What more does this kid want?!

That is why she said "I'll become half of you" "Steven has always been Steven" meaning every choices Steven made was all base on steven's feelings and thoughts. How he react, symphatize, and see the best in everything is part of his personality. It might have resembles rose's personality as other gems pointed out but it was purely part of steven's personality The only reason why pink steven said "she's gone" to white diamond is because Pink was no longer the one in control of the gem. The one who was in control was steven. The form that the gem accepted was the form of steven, That why when White diamond pulled out Steven's gem it form as steven not as Pink Diamond or Rose Quartz Pink existance was nothing but a memory of its past. But it doesn't mean it never existed after Pink lost her PHYSICAL FORM. It shown that Steven was able to dream Pink's memories and suffering as he kept stumbling to places where his mother was once. if pink was entirely gone, Steven wouldn't be able to dream Pink's life as a diamond because those places were never part of Steven's life so there's no way that Steven should dream about those places at all, as if those was HIS own memories Thinking that Pink is still alive doesn't ruined the purpose of the show because she still exist through the existance of her gem. That is where the whole plot of Steven Universe revolve is because of her gem's existance The purpose of the rejuvenator is to RESET a GEM to its original form. You can't hide the fact that steven's gem original form was Pink Diamond so it was meant to reform back as Pink Diamond That is why they ended up creating this kind of THEORY after the rejuvenator accident. Because Steven and Pink are 2 different people that share the same gem. Steven didn't turn back because he's half human and was able to keep his memory but what really happened to his gem half where he can only explain "it feels as if I was back when I was a kid again" also gems are immortal só they can't die unless shattered but the diamond can fix this
