People change and you have been able to see the change because you have grown up with him. Alonso was very introverted when he was young. He has admitted that his problems with Lewis were due to their immaturity... but everything bad, all the despicable attacks from the UK, penalties for envy, his retirement, his fans, his partners, everything little by little made him a new man who loves and enjoys F1 and his people with jokes.
