I've said it a million times but I dont thing Lance ever wanted to be in motorsports, and he just doesn't care about any of it. F1 is Lawrences dream and he's living that dream through his son, Lance's biggest problem is probably that he doesn't want to disappoint/stand up to his father. Kinda tragic if you look at it like that, he's still a cockhead tho.
@drazxchef91346 сағат бұрын
Honestly this. I’ve been in the paddock a lot and around people like Lawrence and Lance and this take has been the one that offered me the most clarity. In those sorts of families there is often a lot of pressure. It seems that Lawrence is trying to live his dream vicariously through his son and that’s caused a lot of these issues.
@Kieranh44246 сағат бұрын
I think he did at one point. If you listen to his early f1 radio he seems genuinely excited by good finishes and seems actually passionate, i think hes in too deep. i think he wanted to drop into f1 and drop back out within a few years

Honestly, I wonder why no one's considered the possibility that Lawrence is forcing Lance to be in F1. He clearly doesn't enjoy it, he looks sad all the time, and having the whole F1 community hating on him definitely doesn't help matters either. Plus, he's also mentioned that he'd rather play tennis professionally, and from the interviews and behind the scenes, he just seems like an introverted, chill person. I honestly think it's far more likely that Lawrence Stroll is keeping Lance in F1, rather than Lance keeping himself in it.
@carrained2 сағат бұрын
Definitely agree, I wish he could just play tennis instead so he never has to wonder what could've been, it's not like money's an issue like it is for other people who can't follow their dreams. He could if he was... allowed, I'm guessing...

Ngl. Lance is like the JMR Jawbreakers. Only difference is that the Jawbreakers were a unique bunch that had true fans, built their skills from the bottom up, and were more respectful. Lance however is on a downward trend and with it feels like he's going the way of is old Racing Point Mexican Minister of giving out ass for free teammate: Sergio Perez. I still have tiny faith for Lance but in order for him to grow he needs to find the biggest thing that other F1 drivers have. He needs to find that passion and excitement from the sport. Learn from his mistakes and take what he has learned to better himself. This year Aston Martin has the literal GOD WIND at their backs and he needs to prove himself with it. If anything he truly needs a reality check, acceptance, patience, understanding, consistency, and respect. If he can find those then we may see a ghost of the podium winning Canadian. So Lance if you see this comment. In the summer break, maybe start playing some racing sims, join some of your rivals on some live streams, find a passion, and chase, and ultimately acknowledge that mistakes happen and you must learn from them. I hate to see when F1 drivers leave the sport because they just didn't give their all. So take the advice and show people why you still deserve your seat.. by actually getting points and not fucking up while getting an attitude. Or shall you fade away like the Jawbreakers, and wind up like Sergio. No seat, and the entire community dislikes you outside of your "fans".
@rosemarygonzalez60104 сағат бұрын
"And got a podium for Williams" True, but Massa, Verstappen, Perez, Kvyat, the Renaults, and Raikkonen all retired from the race, Mclaren-Honda, Haas, Toro Rosso and Sauber weren't at Williams, Merc, or Red Bull's level, and Vettel had a stop-go penalty for colliding with Hamilton, who needed an extra pit stop to fix a loose headrest.

I feel like everything good about Stroll's personality and performance slowly but surely faded away from 2022 onwards. Now he's like some guy tired of doing the same shit over and over again(even if he has everything in order to enjoy his time in F1 as much as possible) but sometimes/often blames the others around him and only randomly decides to actually put effort into performance.

you know, on paper, dale earnhardt jr shares a lot of similarities in his early career path to lance. jr came up through the sport driving for his dad's team and had lucrative backing from budweiser before starting a single cup series race that could've locked him into the seat as long as he wanted. but the difference is: jr didn't just sit back and waste his opportunity. his personality, integrity, work ethic, flair, leadership skill, connection with fans, promotion of the sport, and mentoring of younger drivers - all that resulted in jr not only being well-liked, but the *MOST* popular driver nascar's ever had. if lance put even a *tenth* of the amount of effort into aston martin and F1 as jr put into nascar, no one would care about his daddy's cash. yet, here we are.
