awesome stuff bro I have messed with some automotive upholstery before (no sewing only covering parts) I really enjoyed it. This looks simple enough for me to do and I just build a audio studio desk and now I am thinking some tufted leather would have looked awesome on it ha ha not to mention luxurious.

What is the string you use to tie down the buttons please?

DId you mark the button locations on the leather too? If yes how did you determine spacing? the holes in the plywood were 5.5 inches wide by 6.5 inches high from the centers.

What's the best way to map out your layout for the holes? What were you doing with the measuring tape after you drilled the holes -- something about 2"? How are you starting the threading of the buttons (3:40)? How do you know where to poke on the material? Thanks for sharing!!!

When you cut the lines in the foam. Do you cut almost to where the button would go & do you cut all lines so it gives it the crease like a diamond?
